Sachin Gore, Center Director & Head Math Coach
Welcome, I'm Sachin! I love teaching kids math because I feel math is such an important life skill and I know that many students find math to be frustrating and confusing. Using math to solve engineering and business problems was a key to success in my own career. While math came relatively easy to me, our son struggled to "get" math and I struggled to teach it to him in a way that made sense until we discovered Mathnasium!
I went to Penn State University (Go Nittany Lions!) where I majored in Mechanical Engineering. After completing my BS and MS degrees, I went on to work at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI and Andersen Windows in Bayport, MN. While at Andersen, I completed by MBA online at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.
In my professional career, I am proud to be the inventor of several new products that received patents. In addition to living and working in the St. Croix Valley with my wife and son, I enjoy volunteering for Junior Achievement (JA) and the St. Croix Valley Athletic Association (SCVAA).
Tyler LaGrave, Assistant Center Director & Math Coach
Hi! My name is Tyler.
Math is one of my favorite subjects and has proven helpful every single day of my life. I graduated from Stillwater Area High School in 2004 and then studied at the University of Minnesota, where I earned a B.S. in physics. I am also passionate about teaching. I paid my way through college and seminary by tutoring students in physics, math, music, ESL, and other subjects. Now, I’m excited to combine my love for math and for teaching here at Mathnasium!
In addition to teaching at Mathnasium, I am a part-time assistant pastor in Stillwater. My wife Olga and I also enjoy cooking (and eating!) lots of good food, learning foreign languages, reading literature, and playing and listening to classical and folk music.
Dan Geister, Math Coach
Hi! I’m Dan and I am from River Falls, Wisconsin. I have been working in teaching since 2005. I currently work at Rutherford Elementary School in Stillwater as a math intervention specialist. I started volunteering for Mathnasium of Stillwater in November of 2015.
Outside of teaching I have an abundance interests. I am involved with the Pierce County Historical Association and have a major interest in local history. This passion has led me to write two local history books. I also love Star Wars, consider myself an 80’s Music Enthusiast and Collector and I’m always on the hunt for old albums.
Evan Grau, Assistant Math Coach
I am in my senior year at Stillwater Area High School. I have been working at Mathnasium since the summer before my junior year because I like doing math and love working with kids.
In addition to my studies, I like to play basketball and run track. Also, I love traveling and I have been on mission trips to Europe, Jamaica and Los Angeles.
Eleanor Sand, Assistant Math Coach
Hello! I’m Eleanor.
I am a sophomore at Stillwater Area High School who has completed AP Calculus BC. Math tutoring is important to me because I love to help kids succeed. Understanding math opens a plethora of opportunities.
Outside of school, I attend St. Croix Ballet, study Russian, practice cello, and write poetry. In the future, I would love to study abroad in Russia.
