Sachin Gore, Center Director & Head Math Coach
Welcome, I'm Sachin! I love teaching kids math because I feel math is such an important life skill and I know that many students find math to be frustrating and confusing. Using math to solve engineering and business problems was a key to success in my own career. While math came relatively easy to me, our son struggled to "get" math and I struggled to teach it to him in a way that made sense until we discovered Mathnasium!
I went to Penn State University (Go Nittany Lions!) where I majored in Mechanical Engineering. After completing my BS and MS degrees, I went on to work at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI and Andersen Windows in Bayport, MN. While at Andersen, I completed by MBA online at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.
In my professional career, I am proud to be the inventor of several new products that received patents. In addition to living and working in the St. Croix Valley with my wife and son, I enjoy volunteering for Junior Achievement (JA) and the St. Croix Valley Athletic Association (SCVAA).
Evan Grau, Lead Math Coach
I recently graduated from Stillwater Area High School this May and will be starting at the University of Wisconsin in Madison this fall to study engineering. I have been working at Mathnasium for two years now because I enjoy working with kids and teaching students to understand math at the next level.
In addition to my studies, I like to play basketball and go running. I also love to travel.
John Wells, Math Coach
Hi I'm John! I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Virginia Tech in 2010 with minors in Statistics and Actuarial Science. I discovered his love for teaching math during my time at Virginia Tech, when I tutored and supervised at the on-campus Math Emporium where I learned that students must make their own connections in math in order to build foundational knowledge. The role of the instructor is to help students find those connections. The Mathnasium method aligns with that style of teaching, ensuring that students make their own connections while building a solid math foundation.
In my spare time, I am an avid chess player, and I keep my abilities sharp by playing in tournaments. I have earned a national rating of over 1600 am steadily climbing. I enjoy teaching chess as well because it teaches logic and reasoning, which are two incredibly valuable tools in the world of mathematics. My philosophy is that anyone can become a great mathlete as long as they are given the tools to build the right foundation. It is my goal to help children build those foundations and come to love math as much as I do.
Carly Boyle, Math Coach
Hi I'm Carly! I just finished my junior year at UW-River Falls majoring in Secondary Mathematics Education. I hope to be a middle school math teacher! I decided to work at Mathnasium because I love encouraging students and making math more accessible to every student.
In my free time I enjoy running and watching sports. My favorite sports to watch are football and basketball!
Eleanor Sand, Assistant Math Coach
Hello! I’m Eleanor.
I will be a junior at Stillwater Area High School who has completed AP Calculus BC. Math tutoring is important to me because I love to help kids succeed. Understanding math opens a plethora of opportunities.
Outside of school, I attend St. Croix Ballet, study Russian, practice cello, and write poetry. In the future, I would love to study abroad in Russia.
Jewels Belisle, Assistant Math Coach
My name is Jewels and I'm a junior at Stillwater Area High School. I am originally from small town Somerset and moved to Stillwater the summer of 2017. I've been working at Mathnasium since January 2018.
I love to wrestle, listen to music and (obviously) math!
Ryan Ciminski, Assistant Math Coach
Hello there, I’m Ryan!
I will be a junior "Pony" at Stillwater Area High School and am taking Pre-Calculus this upcoming school year. I really enjoy helping others with math and find it a very engaging experience!
Along with studying math, I am a junior officer for both Key Club International and National Honor Society, on the Stillwater Speech Team, and am actively serving on the Youth Preparedness Council for the United States Department of Homeland Security. Previously, I was an officer on the H20 For Life Campaign, where myself and a Stillwater-based team raised $8,000 to build a drinkable water well in South Sudan.
Away from school, I am an avid violinist.
Maddie Heinz, Assistant Math Coach
Hi, I'm Maddie!
I'm a junior at Stillwater Area High School where I'm involved with the National Honor Society and the theatre department. I started working at Mathnasium because it's a positive environment and I want to help kids learn and have fun.
Outside of school, I'm a cheerleader. I love music and I enjoy studying French!
