Make a Gingerbread House Math Activity

Dec 11, 2017

‘Tis the season for sweet treats and warm holiday celebrations. As you snuggle up in your house with family and friends, we want to make your holiday even better with a fun and tasty math-based gingerbread house activity. Use our custom gingerbread recipe—and your child’s excellent math skills—to make a special cookie structure you can be proud to share with your loved ones!

Download the activity here, then simplify the fractions and solve the equations to find the correct amount of each ingredient to use and complete the instructions. Use the template to cut the walls and roof to the right size. Make sure to help your child with the hot oven and enjoy some family bonding time by joining in with the building and decorating!

When you’re done we’d love to see your creation! Post a picture to Facebook or Instagram and tag @mathnasium to show off your work!

We wish you the very warmest, sweetest, and happiest of holidays!
