Student of the Month Avoids Summer Learning Loss with Mathnasium

Jun 10, 2021 | Boerne

Summer is traditionally a time for kids to take a break from school and engage in all kinds of fun summer activities. While most students experience math learning loss over a normal summer - losing 2-3 months of knowledge on average - the pandemic has caused many kids to fall behind in math even more. There are some kids, like Brooklynne, who are taking the summer as an opportunity to catch up and get ahead for the fall.

Brooklynne has been nominated by our team of caring instructors as the Student of the Month for June 2021. Our team of instructors nominate students for this award to recognize their excellent effort and participation at the center, and as a tool to further build students confidence. Brooklynne was nominated by our instructors because of her hardworking, kind nature and her determination to master math. Brooklynne's favorite subject in school is math because she finds it satisfying to solve formulas and have everything balanced. Brooklynne loves coming to Mathnasium because it is "like school, but better" because she gets to learn something new each session. Aside from exercising her math muscles to be a top mathlete, Brooklynne is a superstar athlete who has participated in competitive cheer, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, tennis, track, soccer, and dance!
