Mathnasium of Aurora, ON is growing and looking for talented math people to fill this position. Advancement to full-time Centre Director position available as centre grows. As an Assistant Centre Director, you will be responsible to assist the Centre Director in the overall success of the centre. This includes the educational success of each child and the financial success of the centre. Successful candidates are passionate about math education and have the desire to eventually run a business. Work hours generally are Monday to Thursday, 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. This is a salary position. Hours may vary week to week. Up to 40 hrs per week. BENEFITS OF WORKING AT MATHNASIUM: • Training: We offer training in the proprietary Mathnasium Method. • Students: You will work with a variety of students at different grade levels. • All Work is in the Centre: All work is done at the Mathnasium Centre, so you have no homework to correct after your shift or lesson plans to develop. • Career Path: Starting as an Assistant Centre Director, you can progress within the centre to become a Full-time Centre Director! RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assessing students and communicating results to parents • Teaching, mentoring and working with children (grade 1 to 10) • Managing the curriculum needs of students • Communicating with parents about the progress of their child • Training and mentoring instructors • Managing instructor schedules • General business operations • Marketing or networking in the community • Selling in person, by email and by phone (training provided) QUALIFICATIONS: • Post-secondary degree in Education, Math or STEM related program • Strong math background • Fun, outgoing, confident, flexible, professional, trustworthy, passionate, energetic and friendly, able to engage children in making education fun • Strong managerial and organizational skills • Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills • Experience in teaching or tutoring children in math Please forward a brief bio and resume. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Enthusiastic Math Instructors Wanted! Mathnasium is a math only learning centre that offers both math help and enrichment to students in grades 1-12. Each student in our program receives a customized learning plan based on our proprietary teaching material. Mathnasium of Aurora ON is currently looking for individuals who are exceptional at math and love teaching kids. We love math and are looking for enthusiastic tutors to help kids understand math like never before! Qualifications: • Exceptional math skills (Elementary and/or High School level) • High energy, enthusiastic, confident personality • Excellent communication skills, ability to professionally interact with students and parents • Previous teaching experience or other experience working with students Hours may vary, from mid-afternoon to early evening hours, Monday - Thursday and Saturday. Approximately 8 - 20 hours per week (flexible). All candidates must successfully pass a math literacy test in order to be considered. A Police Vulnerable Sector Check must be provided, if offered employment. Reference checks will be conducted prior to start of employment. For those hired, there will be paid training offered in the Mathnasium Method of teaching, as well as ongoing training opportunities. Preference is given to applicants who are available for a minimum of 2 weeknight shifts per week throughout the school year. There are no summer only positions available at this time.
