He strives to make math fun, engaging, and accessible for every student, no matter where they begin. His approach emphasizes confidence and curiosity, helping students view math as a skill they can truly enjoy.

Livija (Ms.M)
Instructor
From a young age, Livija dreamed of becoming a math teacher, and turned that dream into reality. After earning her mathematics degree, she taught in both elementary and high schools before moving to Canada in 2012 with her husband and two children. Since 2020, she has also taught Business Math at Conestoga College, where she inspires confidence and curiosity in her students.
Livija believes in creating a welcoming, supportive environment that helps students grow. In her free time, she enjoys playing pickleball and table tennis, traveling with her family, and discovering new places around the world.
Shahil C
High school Instructor
Shahil recently graduated from Western University with a degree in chemical engineering, where his research focused on biofuels and bioplastics made from microalgae. Raised in Zimbabwe, he is experienced with a variety of math curricula including IGSCE, IB, and Ontario. His own journey of understanding not just how but why math works fueled his passion for teaching.
Inspired by his former tutors, Shahil wants to give students the same supportive experience. He teaches with patience and encouragement, reducing stress while building skills. Outside the classroom, he enjoys gardening, squash, swimming, playing piano and ukulele, and composing video game music.
Nikhil
High school Instructor
Meet Nikhil, a dedicated Science and Aviation student at the University of Waterloo, pursuing both a Bachelor of Science and a Commercial Pilot License. Since high school, Nikhil has demonstrated a strong interest and passion for mathematics—excelling in his coursework, supporting peers, and earning the Outstanding Achievement in Mathematics award upon graduation with a 98% in both Advanced Functions and Calculus & Vectors.
Nikhil sees math as a beautiful, universal language—broad, powerful, and essential in solving many of the world's greatest mysteries. He understands, however, that math can be intimidating for some. That’s why he’s committed to creating a relaxed, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every student feels welcome and no question is ever a “dumb” one. He enjoys helping students build confidence, strengthen their skills, discover the joy of math, and ultimately succeed in the subject.
Outside the classroom, Nikhil spends much of his time pursuing his passion for aviation through flight training at the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre and building flight hours. As a licensed Private Pilot, he regularly flies cross-country trips, practices airwork maneuvers, and takes friends and family up for fun flights—all while working toward his dream of becoming an airline pilot. In his spare time, Nikhil enjoys swimming, skiing, and playing video games.
Uday
High school Instructor
Meet Uday! He is currently pursuing Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. As a former partial IB student, Uday is familiar with both the IB and Ontario math curriculum, which helps him connect with students across different learning paths. His teaching style focuses on breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps so students can approach math with confidence. Uday especially enjoys showing how the logic of math connects to computer science and problem-solving in real life, inspiring students to see math as both practical and exciting.
Outside of Mathnasium, Uday enjoys art, coding, and video games. He also plays tennis competitively, having earned a WCCSSA doubles plaque, and finds that the focus and discipline from sports translate well into his teaching. With his blend of creativity, technical skills, and athletic drive, Uday strives to create an engaging and supportive learning environment. His ultimate goal is not only to help students succeed in math but also to help them discover confidence, resilience, and even joy in learning.
