When many parents hear the word “coding,” they immediately think about screens, computers, and technology careers.
But for children, coding develops something much more important first: the ability to think logically and solve problems independently.
At Camp Mathnasium, students are introduced to coding in a beginner-friendly and supportive environment designed to make technology feel creative, approachable, and engaging.
Students learn through hands-on activities such as Scratch game design and beginner website creation, where they are encouraged to experiment, test ideas, fix mistakes, and think step-by-step through challenges.
The goal is not to overwhelm students with complicated programming concepts. The goal is to help them develop the habits strong problem-solvers use every day:
• breaking problems into smaller parts
• thinking logically
• testing solutions
• learning from mistakes
• staying persistent through challenges
Coding also changes the way children interact with technology.
Instead of simply consuming content online, students begin understanding how technology actually works and how they can create with it themselves.
By the end of camp, students leave having built their own projects while developing stronger confidence, patience, creativity, and independent thinking skills that extend far beyond coding itself.
For families considering summer enrichment, we are currently offering an Early Bird Special for the Mathnasium Ultra-Six Summer Day Camp, with the first 20 students receiving $100 OFF registration.
