Meet the Team at Mathnasium of Kerrisdale

Mehdi Esmaeilzadeh

I graduated with a B.Sc. in Computer Science from SFU. I am highly motivated and passionate about helping students excel in their academic pursuits. With a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, I strive to simplify complicated topics. My excellent communication skills and ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs allow me to instill confidence and enthusiasm in my students, inspiring them to achieve their full potential. I am seeking opportunities to guide students on their math journey.

Kasun Samaranayake

I hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics, Mathematics, and Electronics, along with several years of high school teaching experience in Physics and Mathematics. During my time at a prestigious international school network in Sri Lanka known as Gateway International, which spans four branches and impacts over 5000 students, I served as the Advanced Level Physics Head across all five schools. In addition to my formal teaching role, I have enriched students' academic journeys through personalized private tuition, helping them achieve their academic goals effectively.

Supriya Dua

I hold a Bachelor of Science in IT and graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2023. I have been teaching at Mathnasium of Kerrisdale, and I truly enjoy teaching kids at all levels, helping them grow and succeed in their math skills.

Hasan Nazir

I hold a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia, with a major in Cognitive Science, specializing in Brain and Cognition. I am currently teaching at Mathnasium of Kerrisdale, where I always bring fun and joy to the learning environment, making sure kids enjoy math while they learn the subject.

Poj Taweepolcharoen

I am currently a Math Instructor at Mathnasium of Kerrisdale. I have prior experience as a mentor, having worked as both a teaching assistant at the secondary school level and a tutor for Learning Buddies Network. I am passionate about teaching and education, and I plan to pursue further studies in the Bachelor of Education program at UBC.

Jayden Wong

I graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Science and have been teaching at Mathnasium of Kerrisdale for over a year. My goal is to become a secondary math teacher, and I hope to join UBC's Bachelor of Education program in the near future. In the meantime, I am dedicated to helping kids maximize their grades and excel in math.

Lily Nguyen

I am currently enrolled in my fourth year at the University of British Columbia, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics and a minor in Physics in Vancouver, BC. I am an instructor and also an alumnus of Mathnasium from my home country, Vietnam, a relatively long time ago. With my passion for math and education, as well as my desire to work with young children towards their academic pursuits, I see this position as a valuable opportunity to further achieve my goals in personal development and growth in tutoring, mentoring, and supporting young students.

Ashley Chan

I am a fourth-year BA Mathematics student at the University of British Columbia. I really enjoy working with kids and endgame goal for the future is to teach math. It’s great to be a part of the team at Mathnasium!

Emma Zhong

I am currently a first-year undergraduate student in the Faculty of Forestry at UBC. During high school, I excelled in senior courses in pre-calculus, calculus, biology, physics, and chemistry. I am proficient in both Mandarin and English, and I have extensive experience in English-to-Mandarin translation. It is great to be a part of the Mathnasium team!
