Today, Mathnasium of Killarney launched its first set of camps at the Alberta Tennis Centre. Camp Mathnasium was initially intended to be delivered as a stand along math camp in centre which entails STEM activites, math instruction and math games. Unfortunately, with the unknowns for in-centre activity and half the occupancy, we decided it was best to forego that option this year.
Fortunately, we were able to strike a partnership with the Osten and Victor Alberta Tennis Centre to provide a math addition to their tennis camps. Students that join us will spend an hour on a combination of STEM activities, Mathnasium strategies in a power workout along with math games to have fun while learning. I started with ciphers and cryptography since it's my favorite topic of them all given my background in cybersecurity. I also have Euler pathing and Data Analysis exercises to help students realize how applicable mathematics is in their daily lives.
The right instruction with the right materials makes a world of difference to enabling students to become successful in math and our hope is to help as many children as we possibly can. If you'd like to learn more about our program, contact us at your convenience [email protected] or 825-509-2143. You'll see why so many children grow to enjoy math while learning with the Mathnasium Method.
