Charith Ariyaratne

Centre Director/ Owner

Charith is the Centre Director and Owner of Mathnasium of Maple Ridge and previously led Mathnasium of Tri-Cities for over six years. He studied Computer Science at BCIT and is known for his analytical mindset and leadership skills. 

Charith represented BC in professional cricket and remains a passionate educator who loves helping students explore the “why” behind math concepts. He brings energy, experience, and heart to every session, ensuring kids feel supported and inspired to succeed.

Larry Martinek

Chief Instructional Officer, Developer of Mathnasium Program

Larry has dedicated his career to making math education better. From inner-city schools to private institutions, he’s served as a teacher, consultant, and curriculum designer. He created the Mathnasium Method, an innovative program that helps students deeply understand math. 

While not based at any single center, Larry’s guidance continues to shape student success. His work helps make math make sense to learners everywhere, empowering them with both skills and self-confidence.

Giovanni Salinas Miranda

Lead Instructor

Giovanni recently graduated from Pinetree Secondary School, completing Pre-Calculus 12 and Calculus 12. He plans to study science at UBC and believes math is key to understanding the world.  

He’s always enjoyed helping friends with math and physics and now brings that same enthusiasm to his role at Mathnasium. Outside of teaching, Giovanni enjoys working out at the gym and is an avid soccer fan.

Tricia Jiang

Instructor

Tricia graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Applied Science, gaining a strong foundation in mathematics and problem-solving. As a mother of two boys, she has developed extensive experience working with children and understands the importance of patience, encouragement, and support in the learning process. She is passionate about teaching math and is excited to help young learners build their skills and confidence throughout their journey at Mathnasium.

Ava Ganjipour

Instructor

Ava has been working at Mathnasium for more than a year, and as a dedicated Mathnasium instructor, she enjoys helping students strengthen their mathematical skills and build confidence in their abilities. Ava is currently a full-time grade 12 student completing the IB program, She has a strong background in mathematics. Her goal is to make math fun and accessible for all students, ensuring they understand the different concepts in a way that suits their learning style.  

Damini Sachdeva

Instructor

Damini devotes her teaching in helping others grow as imperfectly perfect human beings and mathematical geniuses in their Mathnasium journey. She is really passionate in helping others enhance their learning capability, strengthening their intellectual minds. Math is an area of focus that allows her to apply skills of fostering compassion with students. Damini is in her first year at UBC, and her ambitions are to become a clinical counsellor. In her spare time, she likes to paint and volunteer.

Nethmi Jayakody

Instructor

Nethmi is a student at SFU pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science. From her experiences volunteering with and tutoring kids, Nethmi has a passion for working with kids and helping them to become confident in their skills and knowledge. At Mathnasium, she hopes to support students to achieve their goals and excel in math in a way that works for them. Nethmi greatly enjoys the problem-solving aspect of math and the feeling of success when a new concept is understood. She believes that with the right methods, support, and guidance, math can be very enjoyable.

Dominick Lee

Instructor

Dominick is currently a student at Garibaldi Secondary School. He has completed Pre-Calculus 11 and IB Math 11, and he is currently studying both Pre-Calculus 12 and IB Math 12. He also plans to take Calculus 12 to deepen his understanding of mathematics. He is interested in learning science and hopes to study at either UBC or the University of Toronto. One of his greatest joys are teaching and helping other students. As hobbies are volunteering and snowboarding, which he finds really fun to do.


Christopher Lee

Instructor

Christopher is a computer engineering graduate from UBC. He has a strong academic background in mathematics and calculus from university and high school, which he utilizes to help guide students to become more confident and interested in their mathematical abilities. As a Mathnasium instructor, Christopher aims to support students in achieving mastery over topics through his encouraging and step by step style of teaching. Beyond math and teaching, some of Christopher’s hobbies include graphic design, hiking, and music.
