Math has always been my son’s weakest subject — he absolutely hated it. For years, his grades hovered between barely passing and the low 60s. We tried all sorts of home tutors, and while some helped him avoid failing, his marks never really improved. As math got harder from Grade 8 to Grade 9, he stayed stuck in the same range. What made it even more frustrating was that my son often felt he knew the answers, but his test results told a different story. Tutors would say he understood the material and was ready, yet his grades didn’t reflect that. Some didn’t review his homework thoroughly, and a few even left early from sessions. We had always known about Mathnasium, but we hesitated — it cost more, and we worried my son might find it too strict or boring. By the end of Grade 9, with only three weeks left in the school year and his average sitting at 62%, we decided we had nothing to lose. We have been attending classes here for years and our children are THRIVING. They love attending their math classes and continue to excel at a consistent pace. Mathnasium made math understandable and enjoyable for them which is why they are both way above their grade level in Math at school. Our daughter has started at Mathnasium in summer 2025 and we can already see a difference in her math skills as well as her confidence! We felt she was behind for her grade but practicing twice per week at Mathnasium has propelled her forward. Scoring the highest in her classroom on her last math quiz has also given her a boost of confidence and shown her hard work pays off. The instructors are all lovely and knowledgeable. She loves the reward system they have. They are very approachable if anything comes up. We love the flexibility and ease of signing up for sessions. And they are very organized with sending reports and updates after every session as well as occasional check ins. We are very happy with our decision to sign up!

My daughter has such a positive experience at the Central Whitby Mathnasium Centre. Her performance in math has been strong all year and most importantly, she developed confidence in her ability to learn and master the content. She followed along with the program that was set out for her and also was able to do some review for upcoming tests with the staff. She loved the gamification of the program and the ability to earn stars and prizes; and had a great time at the Pi Day Party. Thank you to Kishon and his team for all of your support. We looked into a few options before landing on Mathnasium, and what won us over was knowing there would be no extra homework sent home. My child already has a full workload from school. The fact that there are multiple instructors available at a time has also been a bonus. We enrolled because math is not my strong suit and helping with homework was a challenge. My child is in Grade 4 and with the new curriculum being more comprehensive, it was becoming more difficult and I wanted to make sure there was real support there. Eight months in and they still genuinely enjoy going and find it fun. They are going beyond what is covered at school and we have definitely noticed a difference in how they approach math work at home. The confidence has grown so much since starting and that is exactly what we were hoping for. It is absolutely working. The teachers are kind, the owner is very accommodating, and there is even an online option for times when we cannot make it into the centre. We are now giving it a try with our second child as well.
