Cassandra

Centre Director
Cassandra is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She graduated from York University with a BSc in Mathematics for Education as well as a BEd. She has qualifications in the Intermediate/Senior divisions for Mathematics and French. Cassandra always takes the time to listen to all the questions and concerns of her students. She enjoys working with numbers and teaching math concepts to students and helping them succeed and feel confident in their abilities. In her spare time, Cassandra enjoys playing and watching basketball, swimming and spending time with her family and friends. Favourite Math Joke: Q: How do numbers celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Alexandra

Math Instructor
Alexandra is entering her third year of Biomedical Science (B. Sc, Hons.) at York University. Math has always been one of her favourites at school because she finds it fun and challenging, but also because math is the foundation of science. She loves teaching at Mathnasium and seeing the students master new concepts and enjoying math. Outside of Mathnasium, she loves dancing, running outdoors, and listening to music. Favourite Math Joke: Q: Why is the obtuse triangle always upset? A: Because it is never right. Favourite Number: 7

Eleni

Math Instructor
Eleni is currently entering her 3rd year of undergrad at Toronto Metropolitan University, studying Finance and Economics. She has always enjoyed math courses and now especially, likes math that deals with money and business! She has a passion for working with children and aims to help them gain the confidence she knows they can find. She loves to adapt the Socratic questioning method to get the students thinking on a deeper level and is ecstatic when they begin to understand difficult concepts. Eleni plans to become a Financial Analyst in the future, though in her later years, she hopes to further her love for teaching and become a Professor. On her free time, she loves to read and play volleyball! Volleyball is her favourite sport and she always brings one whenever she takes a trip to the beach. Jenna

Math Instructor
Jenna is currently going into her fourth and final year of her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, completing a Mathematics and its Applications (Teaching) Specialist, a Drama Minor, and an Education and Society Minor. After graduation, she plans to pursue her Master of Teaching at OISE with the end goal of becoming a high school math and drama teacher. Jenna is extremely passionate about empowering people to believe that anyone can be a ‘math person’ and loves seeing that spark of excitement when a student finally understands a challenging concept. She is so grateful that she gets to experience that everyday while working at Mathnasium. In her spare time, Jenna loves participating in all types of performing arts, from performing in and/or directing musicals, to singing and songwriting, from singing in a UofT a cappella group, to making audiences laugh as a member of her school’s improv team. Favourite Math Joke: 6 is afraid of 7 because 7 8 9, but 6 is mean to 4 and 8 Favourite Number: 3 - because I like prime numbers

Jordan

Jordan is entering his 2nd year at McMaster for his Bachelor of Biochemistry. He loves doing math and wants to share his passion with his students. Jordan breaks down questions into simple steps to make solving problems as easy to understand as possible. Kaitlyn is entering her last year of high school. Math is her favourite subject and she especially enjoys algebra. She plans to study engineering in the future as she thoroughly enjoys math and physics. In her free time, Kaitlyn likes to read books in the literary fiction genre and likes to spend time with her friends and family. Favourite Math Joke: Q: What's a math teacher's favourite season? Oluwakemi

Kemi is entering her 3rd year at Humber College for their Bachelor of Design program. Math is integral to design, whether calculating dimensions for a new project or understanding patterns and symmetry. Kemi takes her time to understand problems at their most basic levels in simple terms to best translate them for learning students. She also loves creating fun experiences for the students through events, raffles, and games. Kemi loves attending concerts and spending time with friends in her spare time. Raiana

Raiana is in her 4th year of the Concurrent Education program (BSc in Chemistry and BEd) at Queen’s University. She understands that math is essential to every career path and is devoted to helping students achieve their goals. Raiana approaches every problem with a positive attitude and is dedicated to creating a fun and encouraging environment for the students to learn. Yuna is entering her last year of high school. She has a strong passion for math and wants to share this love with the students. She enjoys accounting and biology classes in school. She plans to study health sciences for her post-secondary education, hoping for a career in medicine, specifically dentistry. Her hobbies are reading, listening to music, and baking cookies.
