Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that effective March 17th, Mathnasium Oakville will be suspending in-centre instruction until further notice. This was not an easy decision for us to make. While we know that our service is essential to our students, unfortunately we do not fall into the essential service category, and we respect the recommendations that have been made by our government. With this in mind, our head office has advised us to take appropriate measures until the COVID-19 situation is more under control. At Mathnasium, our first priority is supporting your children, and we feel that we have an obligation to protect our families by taking the necessary steps. We understand that with the school closures comes some concern that the students will fall behind. It is for this reason that we will be reassessing the situation on a daily basis, instead of closing indefinitely. We are closely monitoring the situation, and as soon as we feel it is safe to re-open our centres we will do so.
As some of you may already know, we are working hard to launch our Mathnasium @home program with this or so, where we can deliver online instruction to the students. Under development with thousands of students the past 3 years, this new platform brings the same Mathnasium Method from our centres to students at home through an internet-connected computer. As this was a program that was being initially launched over the next several months, our head office is working quickly to work out all of the kinks in order for us to begin to offer our students the opportunity to continue their sessions via this online platform. As soon as we are up and running at the Centre, we will let you know. Please if you have not contacted us for the Mathnasium@Home option, please do so.
In the interim, we will be performing a deep cleaning of our centres to make sure that they are safe and clean for when we are ready to resume operations in-centre operations.
You can expect weekly or even daily updates from us as the situation evolves. Information for each upcoming week, will be sent prior to the Sunday of that week in order to give you ample time to plan accordingly.
We appreciate your understanding and support and look forward to serving you again in-person.
This situation has badly affected many people, and some threatening their survival, especially workers and small businesses. We hope you will conttinue to support your Mathnasium that served this community and the families for the past for 8+ years! Togetther we will weather this storm and while minimizing the learning loss for your child(ren)
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
