Ellen Wheeler, Center Director/Owner

Hello! I'm Ellen Wheeler, the Center Director at Mathnasium of East Appleton. I earned my B.A. degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Before opening this center, I worked as a consultant helping Wisconsin businesses with their marketing needs.  Prior to that I worked at Kimberly-Clark for 21 years in marketing and sales.

I have two children, and have experienced first-hand the frustrations of math at the dinner table. I first learned of Mathnasium in 2014 from a pediatric neuropsychologist at the Mayo clinic. She shared that she had seen several children that had exhibited significant growth in their understanding of and confidence in math having enrolled in the Mathnasium program. I was intrigued with what I heard and researched the Mathnasium curriculum and methodology, becoming convinced that this resource could make a difference to children in the Fox Valley.

I am excited about helping children truly understand math and build their confidence by teaching math in the way that makes sense to them.
