Ellen holds a B.A. from DePauw University in Indiana and has over two decades of experience in marketing and sales, including 21 years at Kimberly-Clark. She first learned about Mathnasium in 2014 through a pediatric neuropsychologist who spoke highly of its impact. Intrigued, Ellen researched the curriculum and opened Mathnasium of East Appleton to bring this transformative learning experience to her community.
As a mother of two, Ellen understands the challenges of math homework at the dinner table and is passionate about building confidence by teaching math in a way that truly makes sense.
Jacob graduated from Marquette University, where he minored in Engineering and studied math through Calculus III. His favorite part of working at Mathnasium is helping students grasp complex concepts with ease and confidence.
Outside of Mathnasium, Jacob enjoys swimming, reading, traveling, and watching movies—School of Rock is his all-time favorite. He’s also a freelance videographer, specializing in corporate and commercial videos. His favorite band? Fall Out Boy!
Mathew's passion for math began at just three years old when he received his first set of flashcards. He has experience with college-level math and has mentored middle and high school students for several years. Mathew's career has spanned various industries, including food, paper, and plastics manufacturing.
His long-term goal is to pursue a doctorate in mathematics, no matter how long it takes. Mathew loves sharing his enthusiasm for math with students and helping them see its real-world applications.
Nathaniel is a proud Appleton East alum and a recent graduate of St. Norbert College, where he earned a degree in Mathematics Education with a minor in Computer Science Education. He has taken advanced math courses, including real analysis, combinatorics, and modern geometry. His favorite part of teaching is helping students have “a-ha” moments when learning about math.
Outside of Mathnasium, Nathaniel is a huge Wisconsin sports fan and enjoys watching the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks. He’s been to several Brewers games and hopes to attend a Bucks game soon. One topic he hopes to explore further is taxicab geometry and its real-world applications.
Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where he also tutored his peers. He has a strong passion for the ancient strategy board game Go (also called Weigi in China and Baduk in Korea).
In his spare time, Thomas enjoys recreational mathematics and coding and drawing nebulae. His favorite color is teal, and he loves sharing his enthusiasm for math with students.
Fun Fact: Amy loves to hike and bike!
Aadi attends Kimberly High School, where he runs Cross Country and is a member of the Math Club and Team. He was born in San Francisco, and is a huge fan of California sports teams, but we still like him! 🧀 Aadi plays the piano, violin, and chess, and collects Legos.
Fun Fact: We are genetically related to bananas.

Caden attends Appleton East High School, where he plays football and baseball, and is a member of the Math Team, DECA, and National Honors Society. At Appleton East, he has tutored Freshman through the Dream Team.
Fun Fact: Caden has 4 siblings - 3 older and 1 younger. His older brother Ethan is a Mathnasium instructor, too! 😊

Erin earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky, where she spent 3 years tutoring math for athletes. She currently also tutors for essay writing for students in grades 3-12.
Fun Fact: Erin has a minor in Chinese language, and studied abroad in Shanghai.

Ethan is a graduate of Appleton East High School and is currently working on his bachelors in molecular and cell biology and neurobiology at University of Wisconsin Madison. He is planning on attending medical school in the future.
Fun Fact: Ethan has been conducting research for UW Madison with daddy long legs, looking at leg patterning genes. 🕷️

Fun Fact: Isaiah played in a bell choir in a music festival in the Baltics (Finland, Latvia, Estonia).

Fun Fact: Pickleball is Jack's favorite sport, and his brother also works at Mathnasium!

Fun Fact: Joe has over 600 decimal digits of Pi memorized, and can mentally calculate the day of the week for any date in the past or future. (We've tested him, and he's the real deal!)

Kate attends Kimberly High School where she is a member of DECA and Key Club. She enjoys playing hockey and lacrosse, and volunteers at the Fox Valley Humane Association.
Fun Fact: Kate has a twin sister!

Liam attends Neenah High School, where he plays soccer and is a member of the Math Team. He will be attending Montana State in the fall, studying electrical engineering.
Fun Fact: Liam can juggle!

Lil graduated from Appleton North High School with 5 years of math, including Calc AB, Calc BC, and AP Stats. They love art, including theater, choir, piano, composing, drawing, story-writing, poetry, painting, filmmaking, and making videogames. 🎮
Fun Fact: Lil can recite the alphabet backwards in less than 10 seconds!

Fun Fact: Mason's dad is a teacher at Neenah High School! (not a math teacher... 😉)

Matdysen has a bachelors of science in Environmental Health from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, and is an environmental health and safety professional. She tutored her peers in high school and has privately tutored students as well.
Fun Fact: Matdysen competed in dance and rode horses when growing up in Arizona. 🐎

Fun Fact: As a teenager, Mike submitted documentation of "coin snatching" 51 pennies to the Guinness World Record Book for consideration, breaking the posted record of 39, but was denied entry.

Nicholas is a graduate of Lawrence University, where he received his BA in physics, and has tutored college-level physics and math for the last three years.
Fun Fact: Nicholas loves to play the saxophone! 🎷

Saanvi is a student at Appleton North High School, and enjoys playing the piano and babysitting.

Tiffany has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and tutored math while in college. She also uses math constantly in her daily work at Bemis Company. Tiffany likes to write stories for fun, and her favorite color is blue (but she looks great in Mathnasium red!).
Fun Fact: Tiffany likes to dance in her free time, and competes at a top 500 world level in World of Warcraft.
