Lin Caldwell

Lin Caldwell is passionate about helping children achieve academic success, especially the magic of math. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Administration from UNLV and has built her career on creating positive connections with families. Lin believes every child can excel when given the right support and encouragement. 

For Lin, math is a doorway to building confidence, strengthening skills, and helping students reach their full potential. Her focus is on student success, enrollment, and family engagement. She is thrilled to help students unlock a bright future, one confident smile at a time. 

Yuki Yasunaga

Yuki is a fourth-year honors student at UC Irvine majoring in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting. She has been tutoring math for nearly five years and believes deeply in the impact a knowledgeable but light-hearted teaching style can have on a student. 

At Mathnasium, Yuki brings both experience and approachability to every session, focused on helping students build real understanding and confidence in math.

Dominic

About Me

Hi! My name is Dominic. I am a first generation student and a recent graduate of University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Physics and am currently studying for a Master’s in Astronautical Engineering at the University of Southern California. I use math every single day of my life through school work, internships and beyond, and understand the importance math plays in every part of life. As a tutor since my first year of community college, and as a tutee myself for most class I’ve taken, I also understand the importance of the role of a tutor in both math and life skills. I am excited to support the local community by assisting students succeed in their path to their highest potential to feel empowered to pursue any goals in their future via exciting, supportive and patient instruction.

Esther Lee

Esther holds a BS in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine, where she also worked as a math tutor for elementary and middle school students throughout college. That experience showed her how rewarding it is to watch a student grow in both confidence and problem-solving ability. 

At Mathnasium, Esther is excited to continue that work, helping students build skills and develop a more positive relationship with math.

Ricardo Galvan

Ricardo holds dual teaching credentials, a master's degree in Education and Technology, and a second master's degree in Mathematics. As a first-generation college graduate and former Education Specialist across multiple school districts, he brings a deep personal investment in making sure every student gets the support they need. 

Ricardo focuses on breaking math down into clear, manageable steps using visuals and hands-on strategies. His goal is to make math feel doable and approachable for every student who walks through the door.

Brendan

About Me

Growing up in Taiwan, math was not always easy for me. Like many students, I struggled to understand concepts and often felt frustrated when things didn't click right away. It wasn't until high school, when I had teachers who showed me effective learning habits and problem-solving strategies, that math began to make sense. With the right guidance and support, I gained confidence and eventually developed a genuine appreciation for the subject.

That experience is what inspires me at Mathnasium today. I understand what it's like to feel stuck, and I know how powerful it can be when a student finally experiences that "I get it!" moment. My goal is to help every student build confidence, develop strong math skills, and discover that they are capable of more than they think.

Parents often tell me they want their children to feel confident, motivated, and successful in math. As someone who has personally overcome math challenges, I am passionate about creating a supportive learning environment where students can grow academically while building confidence that extends beyond the classroom.

Outside of Mathnasium, I am pursuing a degree in Business and Finance, where I continue to strengthen the analytical and problem-solving skills that I enjoy sharing with students every day.
