Meet the Team at Mathnasium of Atascadero

"I've done a few different things with my life, from mainframe computer operations to driving an eighteen-wheeler to working at Atascadero State Hospital for over eighteen years. I have been living in Atascadero since 2005, when I moved here with my late bride and bought a house. After leaving my job at the state hospital, I took my friend, Larry, up on his offer to help me open a Mathnasium here in Atascadero, to give something back to this great community. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with a great group of kids who are building math skills and confidence at the same time!"

"I have been with Mathnasium of Atascadero since the beginning of 2024. Being Center Director here is one of the most rewarding and personally satisfying things I have done with my life. I have many years experience instructing people in different subjects... most often they have been adults, but also more than one troop of Boy Scouts, as well as my own three (now grown) children. After a 23 year career in law enforcement, Mathnasium is showing me a whole new outlook on things, and I hope that some of my experiences are able to help our students in their journey through life."

Linn Zalamea

Linn has enjoyed teaching her whole life. Her first students were her stuffed animals and her classmates. She has since enjoyed working with elementary, middle, and high school students. Linn now enjoys instructing students of all ages at Mathnasium. Her favorite math concepts are fractions, problem solving, and algebra. She loves using a variety of teaching styles, and student "light bulb" moments are her favorites. When she's not at Mathnasium, Linn enjoys photography, traveling, hiking, biking, crocheting, singing in her church choir, growing vegetables, walking her dog Sawyer, playing games, musical theater, and cooking. She especially enjoys doing any of the above with her friends and family.
