Mathnasium of Blue Ash's personalized algebra tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
We guide students to transition from concrete to abstract thinking, mastering integers, fractions, order of operations, and introductory variables while building the algebraic reasoning they need for Algebra 1.
Our caring tutors navigate students through multi-step equations, linear functions, graphing, and word problems using personalized plans that turn this pivotal course into a confident foundation for future math success.
We support students with fast-paced, complex topics, such as factoring polynomials, quadratics, exponentials, and logarithms, while building advanced problem-solving skills that Precalculus and college-prep coursework ask for.
At Mathnasium of Blue Ash, our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels learn and master algebra. We support them in Prealgebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2, as well as concepts like expressions, equations, functions, graphing, polynomials, and exponential relationships.
We provide personalized, face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun small-group environment. Our tutors meet each student exactly where they are, helping them fill in knowledge gaps, (re)build foundational skills, and gain the confidence to tackle new algebra challenges.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help students truly understand how algebra works while sharpening critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Our tutors combine proven interactive techniques with personalized learning plans tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. This makes algebra clear, meaningful, and easier to apply both in class and in real-world situations.
Each student’s Mathnasium journey begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills, learning gaps, and goals. Using these insights, we create a personalized learning plan that focuses on exactly what each student needs, whether they need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
With the plan in place, our tutors deliver targeted, supportive instruction, adapting in real time to the student’s learning style. This approach helps students fill knowledge gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and build lasting confidence as they progress through algebra.

Patrick Quinn
Regional Director
Patrick studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Washington, where he worked as a peer tutor and discovered his aptitude and love for teaching. After moving to Cincinnati, OH, Patrick searched for a part time tutoring job, and applied as an Instructor at Mathnasium of Blue Ash. Over the next two years he moved up through the organization, and in February of 2020 he accepted a promotion to Center Director. Patrick served the students and families at Mathnasium of Blue Ash for 6 years before taking on the role of Regional Director in 2026, where he continues to serve the Cincinnati region.
Patrick believes that every child deserves patience and encouragement in their education. Students are often capable of much more than they believe, and with careful guidance they can develop the confidence to succeed and even excel in Math. Patrick is a firm proponent of the Mathnasium Method, and has seen how effective it is in promoting long-term growth and understanding with hundreds of students over his career. As Regional Director he is dedicated to helping the Cincinnati team deliver the most positive and beneficial experience they can to the students and families they work with, so that kids can better understand and learn to love Math.
In his free time, Patrick loves playing board games (the more math, the better!) and playing with his dogs.

Mathnasium of Blue Ash’s tutors work with students across every level of algebra, including Prealgebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2.
No matter where your student begins, our tutors build a personalized learning plan around their current math skills, guiding them to catch up, keep up, or get ahead while building deep understanding along the way.
Our tutors help students master any algebra topic, including:
Expressions and equations
Inequalities
Linear and quadratic functions
Systems of equations and graphing
Polynomials and factoring
Exponents, radicals, and rational expressions
Each student's personalized learning plan focuses on exactly what they need, so every session moves them closer to mastering algebra.
We require the assessment because it gives us a clear picture of where each student stands with algebra, what they already understand, where the gaps are, and what they're hoping to achieve.
From there, we build a personalized learning plan around that student specifically, instead of starting everyone at the same place or assuming what a "typical" student at their grade level should already know.
Mathnasium of Blue Ash uses the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to build deep understanding of algebra rather than rote memorization.
Our tutors first identify what a student already knows, close any foundational gaps holding them back, then introduce new material step by step.
Sessions are face-to-face in a small, supportive group setting, guided by each student's personalized learning plan. Students make progress at their own pace, building the kind of confidence that changes how they think and feel about algebra altogether.
Yes, Mathnasium tutors work with students at every skill level, including those who are falling behind. At Mathnasium, we focus on “teaching for understanding," which means we teach math in a way that makes sense to students. By building upon what students already know, our tutors guide them to fill any gaps in their knowledge in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Absolutely! We work with advanced algebra students across the board:
Students in honors and accelerated courses
Students looking to get ahead of upcoming coursework
Students seeking enrichment beyond the classroom
We can also help students build the algebra skills they'll need for college entrance exams like the PSAT®, SAT®, and ACT®.
At Mathnasium of Blue Ash, we can provide homework support. Rather than simply providing answers, our tutors use homework as a chance to reinforce what a student is learning, walking through the reasoning behind each problem so they can handle similar ones independently every single time.
Yes! Each student's personalized learning plan can align with the Ohio's Learning Standards for Mathematics and classroom goals, giving them a solid understanding of the material before quizzes, unit tests, and final exams arrive.
For standardized assessments that include algebra content, our tutors focus on closing knowledge gaps early, so test day feels like a chance to show what students already know rather than a scramble to catch up.
Yes, students can join live, face-to-face online sessions with the same tutors they'd work with at our Blue Ash center. Online instruction follows the same personalized learning plan and delivers the same quality of caring, real-time support as attending in person.
No, there's no difference. In-center or online, students work with the same specially trained tutors, follow the same personalized learning plan, and get the same face-to-face instruction. Many families combine both formats for added flexibility.
Our tutors are familiar with the Ohio Learning Standards for Mathematics and their specific classroom curriculum. When helpful, we align instruction with what students are working on in the local Blue Ash’s school districts to support both classroom performance and broader math goals.
While Mathnasium of Blue Ash works with K-12 students, algebra support tends to concentrate in grades 6 through 12, spanning standard, honors, and accelerated coursework.
We also work with students earlier than that, helping middle schoolers build the foundational skills that make algebra land the moment they get there.
Mathnasium of Blue Ash charges a flat monthly membership fee, so your family always knows what to expect. For exact pricing, contact our center directly at (513) 984-1212 or [email protected].
