Mathnasium of Blue Ash's personalized geometry tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
Our specially trained tutors guide middle school students through foundational concepts like basic measurement, shapes, congruence, and angles in a supportive and engaging environment that builds the confidence and reasoning students need to feel ready for high school geometry.
We help students navigate high-school-level topics, including triangles, the Pythagorean theorem, circles, proofs, and transformations. Our tutors break down challenging concepts into clear steps, so students feel capable and prepared rather than overwhelmed.
Honors students and competition participants can get targeted support from our tutors for challenging topics like coordinate geometry, advanced proofs, and complex problem-solving strategies that prepare them for college-level coursework and math competitions.
Our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels excel in geometry, supporting their transition from middle school to high school math by building a true understanding and solid foundations.
We provide personalized, face-to-face instruction in a warm and encouraging environment, meeting each student where they are and walking them through concepts step by step until geometry starts to feel manageable and even rewarding.
At Mathnasium, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed around personalized learning plans. This proven approach is designed to make even the most abstract geometric concepts easy to understand and apply in real-world contexts.
We build upon what students already know, strengthening foundational skills and introducing geometry concepts in sequence, so they can truly understand and even enjoy the subject.
Each student begins their enrollment with a diagnostic assessment where we identify their current skill level, uncover any knowledge gaps, and map out their learning goals. Using these insights, we create a personalized learning plan that guides them toward mastery of geometry.
Our tutors follow each student’s personalized learning plan while using proven, interactive teaching techniques. That way, students build a deep understanding of all important geometry concepts, such as angles, transformations, congruence, and similarity.

Specially Trained and Caring Team
Patrick Quinn
Regional Director
Patrick studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Washington, where he worked as a peer tutor and discovered his aptitude and love for teaching. After moving to Cincinnati, OH, Patrick searched for a part time tutoring job, and applied as an Instructor at Mathnasium of Blue Ash. Over the next two years he moved up through the organization, and in February of 2020 he accepted a promotion to Center Director. Patrick served the students and families at Mathnasium of Blue Ash for 6 years before taking on the role of Regional Director in 2026, where he continues to serve the Cincinnati region.
Patrick believes that every child deserves patience and encouragement in their education. Students are often capable of much more than they believe, and with careful guidance they can develop the confidence to succeed and even excel in Math. Patrick is a firm proponent of the Mathnasium Method, and has seen how effective it is in promoting long-term growth and understanding with hundreds of students over his career. As Regional Director he is dedicated to helping the Cincinnati team deliver the most positive and beneficial experience they can to the students and families they work with, so that kids can better understand and learn to love Math.
In his free time, Patrick loves playing board games (the more math, the better!) and playing with his dogs.
Karen Lossing
Executive Director
Karen is a powerhouse in the world of education, with a mission to make math click for every child. Karen’s career in education began in 2004 when she noticed her son was falling behind academically and wanted to help him and students like him get the best support available. Karen earned her master’s and teaching certificate and became a classroom teacher. During her years of teaching, she worked as an interventionist and district liaison for math curriculum and instruction.
After nearly a decade working in schools, Karen shifted gears to supplemental education in 2013 and opened the doors to her first Mathnasium franchise. Karen's first learning center has been recognized as a top performing location for several years in a row.
In addition to the work she does at her learning centers, Karen has served on the Mathnasium Franchise Advisory Committee, where her influence has been instrumental in shaping the company's direction and curriculum. Her efforts have led to the frequent adoption of new curriculum and student management systems, ensuring Mathnasium offers the best possible tools to help students excel and instilling confidence in her leadership.
Some of Karen’s achievements include:
Today, Karen and her family own a network of Mathnasium Learning Centers, empowering K-12 students to unlock their full math potential.

Prior to joining the Mathnasium team full time, Libby attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was the Captain of the UCLA Spirit Squad and traveled the country as the school’s mascot. This multifaceted experience allows her to connect with a wide range of people and fosters a collaborative and engaging atmosphere in her work. In addition to her bachelor's degree from UCLA, Libby holds a certificate in School Management and Leadership from the prestigious Harvard School of Education and Business School.
Some of Libby’s exceptional achievements include:
A key member of the Mathnasium team since 2017, Libby is dedicated to creating a positive and enriching learning environment for all students.
Youngkun Weiss
Director of Operations
Youngkun's journey in education began with his pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics at Revelle College, University of California San Diego (UCSD). However, his passion soon shifted towards math education, prompting him to change his major to focus on secondary education. Since 2013, Youngkun has been actively involved in tutoring and various educational initiatives, demonstrating his commitment to education both within and beyond academia.
In January 2015, Youngkun became an instructor at Mathnasium, driven by a desire to make a direct impact on students' mathematical experiences. His dedication and leadership abilities quickly became evident, and by late 2017, he had transitioned to the role of Center Director. His continued success led to his promotion to Director of Operations in early 2023, where he now oversees multiple Mathnasium centers, including those in San Diego, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, and Cincinnati.
Youngkun firmly believes that every student deserves to approach math with confidence. He is a staunch advocate of the Mathnasium method, which emphasizes a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and aims to eliminate the fear of math that often impedes student progress.
Committed to fostering the personal and professional growth of both instructors and students within his region, Youngkun strives to create an environment where learning math is a positive and empowering experience.
Evan Lossing
Director of Human Resources
Evan's journey at Mathnasium began in 2013 as an Instructor. His passion for math education stemmed from his own academic journey.
