Mathnasium and The MOMS Network of Mommy Bloggers Celebrate the Launch of Danica McKellar’s New Picture Book, Goodnight Numbers!

Mathnasium had the opportunity to partner with The MOMS Network of mommy bloggers on March 7th, 2017, as the proud sponsor of the kickoff event in Danica McKellar’s publicity tour for her new math-themed children’s book, Goodnight Numbers.

Best known originally for her role as Winnie Cooper in The Wonder Years, McKellar is an education advocate, mom, and author of books such as Math Doesn’t SuckGirls Get Curves—Geometry Takes Shape, and more. The event was held at the Museum of Mathematics in New York City, was organized by The MOMS Network as one of their MAMARAZZI events, and was attended by press and influencers in the mommy blogosphere.

Kids and parents alike were thrilled with the math-centered games and activities provided by Mathnasium. Early in the event, Mathnasium’s Co-Founder and Chief Instructional Officer, Larry Martinek, took the stage to teach the kids some fun mental math skills, where the participation from the kids—hands being raised, responses shouted with glee—was inspiring. After a moderated session with The MOMS’ Melissa Gerstein and Denise Albert, Danica McKellar gave a live reading of Goodnight Numbers, then stayed to answer questions and sign books, during which time Mathnasium and The National Museum of Mathematics provided more fun math games and educational math toys.

The event was a resounding success resulting in over 70 Million media and social influencer impressions through tweets, blog stories and news stories. Perhaps most significant, however, will be the impact of our new relationships with four of the popular bloggers whose children will be Mathnasium students in Q2 and Q3.
