Val Senavsky
Center Director
Val holds dual degrees in Chemistry and Music Performance from Carnegie Mellon University. After earning her teaching certificate through Teach for America, she taught math at Columbia High School before joining Mathnasium in 2021. She quickly advanced to Center Director by 2022, thanks to her passion for customizing curriculum and building student confidence.
Outside of work, Val enjoys hiking, skiing, audiobooks, and traveling. She also plays multiple instruments, including French horn and viola. Her favorite number is 9 because it’s odd and has three factors, just like her creative and analytical sides.
Sophia Orm
Assistant Center Director / Regional Admissions Director
Sophia is a Boise native studying chemistry at Boise State with minors in criminal justice and American Sign Language. Since joining Mathnasium in 2022, she’s become known for her leadership, positivity, and dedication to student growth. Outside of work, she’s a TA for ASL, enjoys Dutch Bros, cooking, and staying active.
Sophia was on her high school wrestling team and wears her old soccer jersey number—9—as a badge of pride. She loves building strong connections with students and families while helping them gain confidence in math.
Cait Smith
Lead Instructor
Cait is finishing her degree in Elementary Education at Boise State and currently student-teaches at Adams Elementary. Since joining Mathnasium in 2022, she’s been known for her humor, high standards, and ability to connect with students.
As a military kid, Cait has lived across the U.S. and abroad. She also works at the YMCA and enjoys skiing, hiking, and traveling on weekends. Her favorite number is 6—“It’s even and it rocks!” She loves seeing students have breakthroughs and believes every learning success builds lifelong confidence.
Lizzy Billingsley
Lead Instructor
Lizzy is a psychology major at Boise State and originally from McCall, Idaho. Inspired by a 7th-grade math teacher, she joined Mathnasium in 2023 and became a Lead Instructor in early 2024. Known for her warmth and enthusiasm, Lizzy loves helping students grow. Outside of work, she enjoys biking the Greenbelt and movie nights with her roommates.
Raised with two dogs, four cats, and three siblings, her home was lovingly called “the farm.” Her favorite number is 3, because it shows up meaningfully throughout her life.
Laney Lovrovich
Lead Instructor
Laney is a junior at Boise State studying Mathematics with an emphasis in Secondary Education. A 4.0 student and graduate of Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, WA, she’s passionate about teaching and math.
Outside the classroom, Laney enjoys sports events, arts and crafts, and celebrating her roots—Gig Harbor is still her favorite place in the world. Her favorite number is 1, the number she proudly wore on her volleyball jersey. Laney loves helping students see that math can be both fun and fulfilling.
Tim Chenoweth
Instructor
Tim graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1981 with a BS in mathematics, and earned his MBA, as well as two graduate degrees (MS and PhD) in computer science. In high school and college, Tim attended chess club and Dungeon and Dragons club. As a graduate student, he worked as both a teaching assistant and a research assistant while in graduate school. Tim spent 23 years as a professor at Boise State University, teaching mostly computer science courses as well as a few statistics courses. As a retiree, Tim spends most of his time reading – mostly science fiction and fantasy. His favorite book is Dune.
Fun Fact: During the summer of 1980, while stationed on the Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant, I helped rescue hundreds of Cubans from the waters between Key West and Cuba during the Mariel Boatlift.
Favorite Number: Zero because it's just plan weird.
Education: I graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1981 with a BS in mathematics. I graduated from Washington State University in 1996 with an MBA, an MS in Computer Science, and a PhD in Information Systems.

We offer a flat monthly enrollment fee, along with a one-time start-up fee when joining. Families can choose month-to-month plans or take advantage of discounted long-term options. Most students benefit from attending 2–3 sessions per week. We recommend beginning with a free assessment to find the best plan for your child.
