What Parents Can Expect During a Math Skills Assessment

We’re so glad you’re here for a math consultation—it’s the first step in their math journey with us. After your child completes a Mathnasium math assessment, we’ll take about 15 minutes together to review results and share how Mathnasium can support their growth.

Note:  We are very busy. There may be a wait today. 

Here’s what you can expect:

💡 Where Caregivers Wait

Caregivers relax in the car, sit in the friendly deli next door (they also have restrooms) or go foodshopping at Giant (free parking). Please note, we don’t have a waiting area or restroom available for caregivers inside our center. Give this a read while you wait:  The "Trap of Not Filling in the Gaps" written by our founder. 

📝 What the Consultation Include
Your child will work with an instructor on both verbal and written math activities designed to highlight strengths and identify areas to grow.

⏱️ Timing
Most assessments take about 20 minutes, depending on grade level. We’ll follow up with a warm, 15-minute consultation just for you.

🚗 Parking
We’re easy to get to! You’ll find convenient parking right out front, along Wood Street, or in nearby paid parking garages.

Mathnasium of Center City
322 N Broad Street (near Vine Street).

💵 Assessment Cost
Our assessments are currently offered at no cost to families. These assessments help us create a custom learning plan using our curriculum. 

📅 Appointment Confirmation
Confirm your appointment 24 hours in advance (via email or text). Unconfirmed appointments may be released to families on our waitlist who are eager to join.

🌟 Our Approach
We’re not private tutoring. Instead, we provide individual instruction in a group-setting that fills in foundational skills while building confidence. We meet students right where they are—whether that means catching up, staying on track, or offering enrichment to go beyond grade level.  At Mathnasium we only offer long-term math mastery. Students attend Mathnsium for a mimimum of 18th months to years of their schooling.
