Math Instructor
Mike is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at Temple University. Mike is deeply engaged in research that centers around Natural Language Processing and Applied Data Science. His dedication to advancing these areas of study reflects his commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and innovation. He holds a double Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Psychology from Loyola Marymount University. With a diverse educational background, Michael has previously taught Physics, Engineering, and Financial Literacy at the high school level, showcasing his versatility in the field of education. At Mathnasium of Center City, we are excited to welcome Michael to our team. With his impressive academic background and teaching experience, we are confident that students will benefit greatly from his math instruction. Cesco

Math Instructor
Francesco holds a strong academic foundation in Finance & Accounting, an MBA, and a Masters in Analytics. This unique combination of qualifications reflects his dedication to analytical thinking, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of numbers – skills that perfectly align with the mission of Mathnasium. At the heart of Francesco's diverse career is his passion for education, particularly mathematics. As a math instructor, he not only imparts knowledge but also fosters a warm and encouraging learning environment. His students can expect not only to grasp mathematical concepts but also to develop a genuine love for the subject. Francesco's warm demeanor and love of math create a unique and engaging learning experience. Hiba

Math Instructor
Hiba is a current doctoral student at Chestnut Hill College, pursuing a degree in Clinical Psychology, with a passion for helping others and making a positive impact. As a former Mathnasium student herself, she experienced firsthand how a welcoming and engaging learning environment can transform math from intimidating to enjoyable. Hiba holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioinformatics from Virginia Commonwealth University, along with minors in Spanish, Psychology, and Chemistry. Her diverse academic background and previous experience as an Emergency Medical Technician and brain injury researcher have all contributed to strengthening her analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. In her free time, Hiba enjoys crocheting, sewing, and painting. Having experienced the positive impact of Mathnasium herself, she is eager to contribute to creating a space where students feel motivated and excited about learning math.

Elizabeth

Math Instructor
Elizabeth is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology. She holds a bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry from Temple University. While at Temple she was a Division 1 student athlete and a NIH MARC U*STAR scholar. As a part of her education Elizabeth has completed mathematics courses ranging from Linear Algebra to Calculus III. Originally from Baltimore, Elizabeth is passionate about increasing diversity in math education. She has won numerous STEM communication awards and believes that anyone can learn math! Elizabeth is passionate about making Math and STEM education fun while encouraging students to engage with new topics in a positive environment.

Alex

Math Instructor
Alex is planning to pursue graduate school and aims to stay in Philadelphia to achieve her long-term goal of earning a Ph.D. and becoming a professor. Alex is a Philadelphia native who grew up in Haverford, PA. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science with a minor in Economics from the University of Delaware. With several years of experience as a reinsurance broker, Alex has developed a passion for teaching and mentoring. She is actively involved in a mentorship program, helping students balance school, work, and social life—a critical need in today's society. Alex joined Mathnasium driven by her love for math and her desire to inspire young learners. Her instructional skills include simplifying complex mathematical concepts, fostering problem-solving techniques, and creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Allison

Math Instructor
Allison is an Elementary Education teacher who holds a Masters in Special Education. Allison has dedicated herself to shaping young minds. Currently serving as a 3rd grade Special Education teacher in Philadelphia, she brings a wealth of experience and a genuine love for her students. Beyond the classroom, Allison finds joy in the company of her family and friends. Her enthusiasm for learning extends to her favorite subjects—math, reading, and writing. Eager to make a positive impact on students' mathematical journeys, Allison has joined Mathnasium with the goal of inspiring confidence and excitement in each learner. As a Pennsylvania and New Jersey Certified Teacher of Elementary Education (K-8) and Special Education (K-8), Allison is well-equipped to guide students toward success in their mathematical endeavors. Cody

Cody combines academic rigor with a passion for teaching. As a Computer Science and Mathematics major at Temple University, Cody brings both their technical expertise and their enthusiasm for math to the classroom. With an Associate's Degree in Psychology, Cody approaches teaching with a focus on empathy, understanding, and individualized instruction. Cody is committed to demystifying complex mathematical concepts, helping students of all levels build confidence and mastery. They understand the challenges students face, having once considered themselves "bad at math" before excelling in a math-intensive degree. This personal journey gives Cody valuable insight into fostering a growth mindset and creating a supportive learning environment. Known for their motto, "It's not too hard, you just don't know how to do it yet!" Marc

Math Instructor
Marc is a distinguished professional math instructor at Mathnasium of Center City with a robust academic foundation. He completed a triple major at the University of Florida covering Mathematics, Chemistry, and Spanish with a minor in Statistics. Across these disciplines, he has always had a passion for guiding peers and students to reach their full potential serving as a teaching assistant, paid instructor, and personal tutor. Currently working as a Consumer Safety Officer for the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, Marc believes in leveraging problem solving skills to protect the public's health by ensuring safety, efficacy, and security throughout supply chains. This commitment to educational excellence and adaptive teaching methodologies highlights Marc's dedication to fostering a positive and enriching learning environment. Andrew is a dedicated 4th-year architecture student at Thomas Jefferson University with a profound passion for mathematics and teaching. Throughout his academic journey, he has excelled in courses ranging from Algebra, Pre-Algebra, Precalculus, Trigonometry, and Calculus I. Recognized for his adeptness in understanding and explaining mathematical concepts, Andrew has found joy in sharing his knowledge with others. In his spare time, Andrew indulges in his creative pursuits as a dancer and videographer. These hobbies not only serve as outlets for his artistic expression but also enhance his ability to communicate and connect with others. Introducing Maila, our esteemed online math instructor at Mathnasium of Center City! Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology at Rutgers University, Maila combines her passion for understanding the human mind with a strong foundation in the sciences. Set to graduate in May 2025, Maila brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her role as a math instructor. With a focus on fostering mathematical understanding across diverse age groups, Maila's expertise spans from Elementary Math to College Level Pre-Calculus. Her commitment to academic excellence is evident in her pursuit of a rigorous academic program at Rutgers University, where she balances the complexities of psychology and biology.
