Math Instructor
Michael is a highly qualified math instructor at Mathnasium of Center City. He holds a double Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Psychology from Loyola Marymount University. With a diverse educational background, Michael has previously taught Physics, Engineering, and Financial Literacy at the high school level, showcasing his versatility in the field of education. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at Temple University, Michael is deeply engaged in research that centers around Natural Language Processing and Applied Data Science. His dedication to advancing these areas of study reflects his commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and innovation. Managing Director
Shamsa is the current Managing Director for Mathnasium of Center City, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. She holds a bachelor's degree in Finance & Accounting and has furthered her education with a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, focusing on leadership development. Trained in the Asset Based Community Development framework, Shamsa's initiatives have garnered recognition, winning prestigious awards such as the 'Multi-Neighborhoods Partnerships Award' and the USA Best Neighborhood Grand Prize in the Neighborhoods, USA competition. Her program earned her the L.E.A.D 'Enable Others to Act' Wolfpack Leadership Challenge Award. Her goal is to mentor math instructors, fostering the development of both mathematical and interpersonal skills. With a passion for creating a positive learning environment, Shamsa is dedicated to making math not only educational but also enjoyable for students throughout Philadelphia. Having lived in four different states, she has found her home in the vibrant city of Philadelphia. As a dedicated math-only learning center, she takes pride in offering proven, effective, and enjoyable math instruction to students throughout Philadelphia. The center's services extend to all neighborhoods, aiming to make math not only educational but also fun. Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Special Education, Allison has dedicated herself to shaping young minds. Currently serving as a 3rd grade Special Education teacher in Philadelphia, she brings a wealth of experience and a genuine love for her students. Beyond the classroom, Allison finds joy in the company of her family and friends. Her enthusiasm for learning extends to her favorite subjects—math, reading, and writing. Math Instructor
Marc is a distinguished professional math instructor at Mathnasium of Center City with a robust academic foundation. He completed a triple major at the University of Florida covering Mathematics, Chemistry, and Spanish with a minor in Statistics. Across these disciplines, he has always had a passion for guiding peers and students to reach their full potential serving as a teaching assistant, paid instructor, and personal tutor. Currently working as a Consumer Safety Officer for the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, Marc believes in leveraging problem solving skills to protect the public's health by ensuring safety, efficacy, and security throughout supply chains. Elizabeth

Math Instructor
Meet Elizabeth, a dedicated math instructor at Mathnasium of Center City. She holds a bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry from Temple University. While at Temple she was a Division 1 student athlete and a NIH MARC U*STAR scholar. As a part of her education Elizabeth has completed mathematics courses ranging from Linear Algebra to Calculus III. Currently she is a Ph.D. Candidate in Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology. Originally from Baltimore, Elizabeth is passionate about increasing diversity in math education. She has won numerous STEM communication awards and believes that anyone can learn math! Elizabeth is passionate about making Math and STEM education fun while encouraging students to engage with new topics in a positive environment.

Andrew

Instructor
Andrew is a dedicated 4th-year architecture student at Thomas Jefferson University with a profound passion for mathematics and teaching. Throughout his academic journey, he has excelled in courses ranging from Algebra, Pre-Algebra, Precalculus, Trigonometry, and Calculus I. Recognized for his adeptness in understanding and explaining mathematical concepts, Andrew has found joy in sharing his knowledge with others. In his spare time, Andrew indulges in his creative pursuits as a dancer and videographer. These hobbies not only serve as outlets for his artistic expression but also enhance his ability to communicate and connect with others. Andrew's decision to pursue a role at Mathnasium stems from his admiration for the organization's mission of helping people through math education. He is eager to contribute to this cause, leveraging his expertise in mathematics and his passion for community building to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
