Erin

Center Director

Erin is an Occupational Therapy student at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and serves as vice president of her program’s student organization. Passionate about helping children learn, she looks forward to becoming a pediatric occupational therapist. 

At Mathnasium, Erin loves fostering a supportive learning environment where students can grow in confidence and ability. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, embroidery, and other crafts.

Emma S.

Assistant Center Director

Emma is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Society, and Policy with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Utah. She has been part of Mathnasium since 2021 and finds great joy in helping students realize their potential. She believes that math can be both fun and empowering when taught in the right way. 

Emma loves working with students and watching their confidence grow. She is passionate about making math more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Baurak

Lead Instructor

Baurak is a Math Teaching major with a minor in Physics Teaching at the University of Utah. He is passionate about making math enjoyable and helping students discover its fun and practical applications. His goal is to inspire more students to develop a love for math and problem-solving. 

In his free time, Baurak enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing games, and reading science fiction and fantasy books. He is excited to help students build their math skills and confidence at Mathnasium!

Nicole

Lead Instructor

Nicole is currently a Sophomore at the University of Utah studying Computer Science. Math has always been a passion of hers, and she loves helping people find their math ah-ha moment. She also loves reading and cooking in her free time.

Aaron

Instructor

Aaron is a junior at Skyline High School with a love for math—especially calculus. He enjoys breaking down complex concepts and helping students build a strong foundation in mathematics. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Aaron spends his time reading, playing guitar, and watching basketball and football with his brothers. He is excited to help students gain confidence and enjoy learning math!

Addie

Instructor

Addie is a junior at Skyline High School and is currently taking AP Calculus. She loves math and enjoys helping students see its real-world applications. 

Beyond math, she has a passion for the outdoors and loves hiking. She also plays piano and clarinet, finding joy in both music and problem-solving. Addie is excited to be part of Mathnasium and looks forward to making math an engaging and rewarding experience for students!

Brooklyn

Instructor

Brooklyn is currently a senior at Hillcrest High School. She loves the feeling of understanding a math concept and it clicking into place. She wants to help students feel this way at Mathnasium. While she isn't doing math, she loves to pole vault on her track team, rock climb, read, and play guitar.

Cash

Instructor

Cash is currently a junior at Brighton High School. He is taking AP Calculus this year and plans on taking AP Physics next year. He loves working on long math problems and working with others to figure out the solution. When he isn’t at school or Mathnasium, he is participating in the marching band on the tenors or in the jazz band as the bassist.

CC

Instructor

CC is a Junior at Mountain Heights Academy, as is currently taking Math 1050. She has always enjoyed teaching others math, and loves seeing the joy those individuals have when they finally master something. When she's not at school, or working, she is playing soccer and hanging out with her two dogs.

Dane

Instructor

Dane is currently a junior at Brighton High School. He loves math and is in AP calculus this year. He loves running, playing soccer, and playing the piano. He is excited to teach math because he loves seeing the problem click in students heads.

Diana

Instructor
Diana will be a senior this year at Brighton High School. Having just finished AP Calculus and planning to take AP Statistics, she loves learning math and helping others understand it too. In her free time, she likes to make music, walk, play with siblings, and teach English.

Elise

Instructor

Elise is currently a Junior at Hillcrest High School. Her favorite part of math is when a concept finally clicks in her brain, and she wants to share that feeling with others. She has a huge passion for technical theatre and loves how often math plays a part in it. When she isn't working on something in her school's auditorium, she enjoys painting, reading dystopian novels, and playing video games.

Emma E.

Instructor
Emma is a junior at Brighton High School currently taking AP Calculus BC. She has always had a love for math, and enjoys helping others succeed. In her free time she enjoys playing guitar, singing, and performing with her band.

Heidi

Instructor
Heidi is currently a student at the University of Utah majoring in Biomedical Engineering. She has a passion for the medical field and a love for all things math and science. She wants to help kids gain the same love for learning and build their confidence in their math skills. When not working or at school, she loves to be outdoors, hiking, snowboarding, and camping. She also enjoys reading and watching movies and tv shows with her husband.

Ian

Instructor
Ian is currently a student at the University of Utah studying piano and music composition. He took AP Calculus and Physics in high school, and planned to pursue a STEM career before switching to music. When he’s not making music or doing math, Ian enjoys cooking, skiing, and Minecraft.

Jack

Instructor

Jack is a student at the University of Utah getting his bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jack grew up teaching his peers and finds enjoyment in helping others discover and learn creative approaches to solving math problems. Outside of the classroom, Jack likes conducting research on hydrogels and bioadhesives in the BioMINTech lab at the University of Utah and loves skiing and anything outdoors related. Jack is excited to be apart of the team and helping students in the understanding of math. 


Josh

Instructor
Josh is a senior at Hillcrest High School and a member of the IB program. He loves math and wants to help others love math too. In his free time Josh runs cross country and track at Hillcrest, and enjoys hanging out with friends on hikes and in the outdoors.

Kate

Instructor
Kate attended Utah State University, studying Mathematics. Since then, they have been volunteering their time reverse-engineering and simulating computer systems, while writing technical summaries for the community.

Katie

Instructor

Katie is a senior at Olympus High School. She loved taking AP calculus last year and is currently in AP stats. At school she is studying to go into the medical field and in her free time she loves rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, playing piano, and hanging out with friends and family. She loves kids and enjoys helping them love math!

Lily

Instructor
Lily is a current student at the University of Utah studying Chemical Engineering. With a hope to go into the biotech industry, she has always loved seeing how math and science can help people. Outside of school, she enjoys playing the violin, hiking, sailing, and beating her friends in pickleball.

Maggie

Instructor
Maggie is currently a high school student at Waterford. Math has always been a subject of interest for her, and she's always happy to lend a hand to her classmates who are having a hard time with it. At school, she spends her time with the Ethics and Model UN team. In her free time, Maggie pursues a variety of interests, including dance, skiing, and playing the piano. Maggie plans to focus on math and science in college.

Mike

Instructor

Mike is a senior at Skyline High School, he's planning to go to the University of Utah this fall to study games and simulation. He took AP Calculus in his junior year and he's currently preparing for two different physics exams: AP Physics 1 and AP Physics C: Mechanics. He has many hobbies including reading, creative writing, history, theater and music.

Ming

Instructor

Ming is currently a senior at West High School. He has taken math up to AP Calculus BC and is currently taking IB Math HL. Besides that, Ming is also a student researcher at the Utah Neurorobotics Lab, where he uses a lot of math-based concepts. Outside of school, he enjoys swimming, playing cards, and listening to music.

Nash

Instructor

Nash is a Junior at Brighton High School. He enjoys seeing connections between math and the real world and wants to help everyone do the same. In his free time, Nash likes to play water polo, bake, and play strategy games.

Shauna

Instructor
Shauna has always liked math, but her sixth and ninth grade teachers helped her to love math. While she attended Utah State University as a mathematics and statistics major, she tutored and graded papers from basic math to calculus. She has also helped her children with their math skills. She has helped youth in her community for over eleven years learn and develop various skills through her different volunteer work. She enjoys adventures with her children and grandchildren, serving others, jamming in the car, and a good book or movie. She looks forward to helping your child develop their math skills through the Mathnasium Method.

Spencer

Instructor

Spencer Bartholomew is a graduate of the University of Utah with a Masters in Mathematics, a Masters in Education, and a Bachelors in Statistics. He has worked in Higher Education for 24 years, teaching at Salt Lake Community College, Utah Valley University, and the University of Utah, as well as teaching for Jordan School District. He enjoys working with math students of all levels and backgrounds. He relates well with children through his educational experience and through interacting with 17 nieces and nephews.

Talmage

Instructor
Talmage is a high school student at Brighton High School, where he will be taking AP Calculus. When he was younger, he used to entertain himself counting as high as he could. Math has always been his favorite class, and he hopes to study it in college. Talmage also enjoys running, skiing, hiking, and playing the violin

Taylor

Instructor

Taylor is a recent graduate from Brigham Young University with a BS in Physics and Astronomy and a minor in Mathematics. He is enthusiastic about his interests and loves sharing that joy with others. In his free time, Taylor enjoys solving puzzles in many forms from jigsaw puzzles to playing Legend of Zelda.

Wyatt

Instructor
Wyatt is currently a student at the University of Utah majoring in mechanical engineering with an emphasis in aerospace engineering. He has had a love of math and physics his whole life and loves learning new things. In his spare time he enjoys playing games, reading, and playing the violin.

Zack

Instructor

Zack is a senior at Bingham High School and plans to study mechanical and aerospace engineering in college. He loves math and working with kids to help them grow to love it too! He also loves rock climbing, woodworking, and welding in his free time.
