Center Director
Mo is the owner and Center Director at Mathnasium of Eugene. Prior to opening the center in June 2020 to help local K-12 students during the pandemic, Mo's managerial experience includes Financial Manager at Sundance Natural Foods & Wine Cellars, Marketing Manager at Blue Lake Casino, and in the online education (e-Learning) industry: Item Development Manager at Avant Assessment, and Rater Manager at Diglossia. He also launched 2 language programs at 2 universities, a newspaper, a food truck, 2 restaurants, and a polling website. In California, Mo earned a Bachelor in Finance, an MBA in Sustainability, a Minor in Computers, and a teaching certificate, prior to teaching at the University of Oregon for 4 years. Having benefited from years of math tutoring as a child, Mo is enthusiastic about helping every child in the Eugene-Springfield community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. He has taught and coached children of all ages for over 2 decades, and he is committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in his community. Mo is fluent in 5 languages, and has 2 kids in the French immersion programs at South Eugene High School. He also coaches tennis at Eugene YMCA and soccer at Eugene Timbers, and plays live music (drums & flute) at public events.

Charlotte is attending the University of Oregon, studying Business Administration. She graduated from high school in Southern California as a dual enrollment student and earned Magna Cum Laude honors, while balancing being the captain of the basketball, cross country, and track & field teams. She helped families tutoring their kids during the pandemic, then helped coach children’s sports teams after confinement, which expanded her love for helping others learn. During her free time, Charlotte loves to run, and organize and watch her favorite sports teams play.

Kevin is studying Math and Education at the University of Oregon. He worked with students in outdoor science programs and as an in-class Teacher Assistant in a 6th grade class. Kevin is bilingual in English and Spanish, and likes learning new languages. As a local Oregonian, he grew up loving the outdoors, including bouldering and rock-climbing. He also plays the saxophone.
Gloria Zhang

Gloria is an actuary with a Master in Mathematics from Illinois State University. She grew up in a family of math professionals, which sparked her passion for the field. Passionate about teaching, she finds it rewarding to inspire others and share the fun and beauty of mathematics. Prior to Eugene, Gloria has lived in Chicago and Louisville, and has traveled extensively within the U.S. and abroad. She is fluent in Mandarin, and proficient in various programming languages. Outside of work, Gloria enjoys hiking and creating digital illustrations.
Ben Himmelman

Ben is studying Psychology at the University of Oregon, with a Minor in Sociology and Philosophy. He enjoys teaching kids after tutoring math, piano, and chess. Ben moved from Los Angeles to Portland where he grew to love the natural world of the Pacific Northwest, so he likes hiking, paddleboarding, camping, swimming, skiing, and especially rock climbing. He's also a movie enthusiast and an active boulderer.

Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout.
