MATHNASIUM OF EUGENE CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Operates on Core Belief That Every Child Can Become Great at Math

More Than 1,000 Mathnasium Centers in U.S. Help Students Catch Up and Excel

Eugene, OR, June 1, 2021—Mathnasium of Eugene is celebrating 1 year of helping kids get ahead in math.

“Since opening our doors online in June 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, there’s been no greater privilege than watching our students grow and improve over time. Mathnasium students have quickly learned that math can be fun and interesting as well as extraordinarily useful, both in terms of success in school and in the valuable life skills it provides,” said Morgan Jemmali, Director of Mathnasium of Eugene (www.mathnasium.com/eugene), also known as “Mo The Math Pro” on STAR 102.3’s weekly radio show, “Become A Math Ninja”). “We are so grateful to the 4J community for welcoming us and supporting our mission of making math make sense to all—and to our students for their hard work!” Current students at Mathnasium of Eugene come from more than half of 4J’s 40 schools.

There are more than 1,000 Mathnasium centers in the U.S. and abroad, including 9 centers in Portland, but this is the first center in Lane County. This underscores the critical role supplementary math education has come to play for students and parents alike as families look to provide children with the support they need to boost all-around mathematical knowledge, earn better grades, and build brighter futures. The Mathnasium Method™ combines mental, verbal, visual, tactile, and written techniques and focuses on helping kids develop strong math foundations while providing the support they need for homework and tests. In March 2021, Mathnasium was named “the most loved virtual tutoring service in America” during the pandemic!

“It is our core belief that most any child can succeed at math. We’re looking forward to many more years of bringing the Mathnasium Method™ to our local community. We are excited about helping every child reach their potential in math by teaching in a way that makes sense to them… and showing them that math can be fun!” Jemmali said.

Students in grades 1 through 12 come to Mathnasium either to address difficulties they are having with math or to participate in advanced study so they can remain challenged and further excel in their classes. Both groups of students understand the importance of math education for success in college and beyond.
