1. What is the most common thing you see in new students coming to Mathnasium for the first time?

A: They feel an immediate positive association with Math, sometimes for the first time in a long time! They are either finding success right away with skills that are at their readiness level, or they finally feel challenged since their math at school has not held their interest due to being advanced beyond their current grade level.

2. If there was one thing you could tell parents before they bring their student to Mathnasium what would it be?

A: Prepare for a drastic change in your child's attitude about math... for the better!

3. What things do the most successful students have in common?

A: Our most successful students buy into the program and realize that they are getting stronger with every visit. They attend regularly and have a positive attitude!

4. What are some of the ways you teach math to your students?

A: We are best at presenting topics using a variety of techniques - visual, verbal, tactile, etc. We take the time to ensure students thoroughly understand the concept before moving forward, unlike at school where things move very quickly and students are unable to genuinely master skills before going on to the next unit.

5. What do you think is the coolest thing about Mathnasium?

A: Our favorite thing about Mathnasium is having a student smile and brag that they've made an A or B for the first time ever in their math class, or that they got accepted into the advance program they wanted. Very rewarding!
