Sonali S.

Sr. Assistant Center Director
Sonali (she/her) graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor of science in public health and a minor in psychology. Sonali is a compassionate individual driven by a fervent desire to make a positive impact on others' lives. Her journey in the medical field is not just a career path but a profound commitment to alleviating suffering and fostering well-being. With a remarkable blend of versatility, empathy, and resilience, she embodies the essence of caregiving, whether it's in a clinical setting or tutoring young minds at Mathnasium. Her approach to problem-solving mirrors her approach to life - thinking outside the box and embracing challenges with unwavering determination. In her spare time, she thrives in staying active, be it through running with her running club or going to the gym. She, also, considers herself a amateur linguist, as she speaks 4 languages. She continues to expand this by learning French and Spanish. Favorite Number: 19, because she was born on the 19th, "S" is the 19th letter in the alphabet, and it was her jersey number for 11 years! Favorite Math Joke?: What is a math teacher's favorite season? A: Summer!

Madeleine J.

Assistant Center Director
Madeleine graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor of science in neuroscience in 2023. Her curiosity for how people think, feel, and experience the world--as well her passion for helping people develop to the best of their potential--is the connecting thread between her choice in major and her work at Mathnasium. Between her coursework in psychology and her experience working with students as an RA and as a tutor, Madeleine brings empathy, clarity, and humor to her work as an instructor. She has the experience to teach math through Calculus I and Statistics. In her spare time, you might find her engaged in a creative pursuit like painting or poetry, or trying to practice her language skills in Korean or ASL. Favorite number: 2 Favorite math joke: You just increased your sample size? More power to you!

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
