Hickory Flat's personalized programs are designed to support homeschooling students at every stage of their math journey.
We introduce preschool and kindergarten learners to foundational math concepts through hands-on, playful instruction that builds number sense while fostering curiosity and confidence from the very start.
For homeschooled students in grades 1–5, we focus on developing a solid understanding of concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals, making math clear and enjoyable.
We help middle schoolers navigate classes like Prealgebra and Geometry by breaking down abstract ideas into manageable steps in a supportive environment where understanding and confidence grow.
High school students receive targeted support for Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and standardized math test prep that positions them for academic success and future college admissions opportunities.
At Mathnasium of Hickory Flat, we support homeschooling families with math instruction that complements and strengthens at-home learning. Using a proprietary approach, the Mathnasium Method™, our specially trained tutors meet students where they are on their math journey, building on what they already know while identifying and addressing knowledge gaps that may be holding them back.
This proven approach combines personalized learning plans with mental, verbal, visual, tactile, and written techniques to match each student’s learning style. Instruction adjusts to your child’s needs and pace, with an emphasis on helping them develop a deep, lasting understanding of math.
Each student starts with a diagnostic assessment to identify current skills and knowledge gaps. Using assessment-based insights, we create a personalized learning plan tailored to your homeschool goals, whether that’s mastering grade-level content, progressing at an accelerated pace, or getting extra help with challenging concepts.
With the plan in place, our tutors deliver targeted instruction, adapting to each student’s learning style to strengthen their foundational skills and build lasting confidence in math.
At Mathnasium of Hickory Flat, our specially trained math tutors work with homeschooled students of all skill levels to help them learn and master K–12 math, whether they’re reviewing foundational concepts, exploring advanced topics, or preparing for math portions of standardized exams.
