FAQ
ACT tests proficiency in:
The ACT and SAT math sections differ mainly in the topics they cover and the type of questions they ask.
Students can better prepare for each test by considering the range of topics and question formats, adjusting their approach based on their strengths and preferences.
A good math score on the ACT depends on the student’s college goals and the schools they’re applying to.
The ACT math section is scored on a scale of 1 to 36. The national average is between 20 and 21.
Generally, a score of 24-26 is considered competitive for most colleges and universities. For more selective schools, such as top-tier universities, a score of 30-34 would be considered competitive.
The perfect score of 36 is rare but highly impressive.
If the student is aiming for merit-based scholarships, a score of 28 or higher could increase their eligibility.
Ultimately, a good score is one that aligns with the admission requirements of the student’s desired schools.
