Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month

April is Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month. Both mathematics and statistics play a significant role in everyday life — and in addressing many real-world problems.

Join us in celebrating these ever-important subjects by talking to your child about them. From measuring ingredients when baking cookies to figuring out how many gallons of gas your family will need for the week, the more a child can relate to math and statistics, the more they will learn to love and appreciate them.

If you'd like additional tips for "mathing" with your child, email or give us a call!

Congrats on winning our Nintendo Switch Lite giveaway!

We met Auston and William at Bonnet Springs Park Full STEAM ahead spring break festival last week. They stopped by our tent to play some mini math night games, as well as booked a free assessment with us, entering them to win our giveaway.

Host a math night at your school!

Reach out to us to learn how you can bring a math night to your school. Already planning a math or STEM event? Let us come crash it and make it twice as fun! Rumor has it we've given away a few Nintendo Switches at some of these 2024-2025 math nights...only one way to find out!

To all our McKeel Families- we hope to see you at McKeel Academy of Technology on April 15th from 5:30pm-7:00pm for the STEM Night. Be sure to communicate with your school to learn more information since so many of you have been telling me you were unaware of the event.

FAST, STAR, and EOC Testing is happening soon! Are your students on a path to success?

Students generally take the PSAT fall of their 10th grade year. In order to make sure all their bases are covered, they should have completed Algebra 2 during their 9th grade year. If they are a year or two behind, they will only just be starting algebra 2 or geometry in 10th grade, and at a significant disadvantage as far as having learned the content they are required to know in order to perform well on the test. The best way to get ahead is to make sure they're not falling behind in the time leading up to 7th grade.

A's in the classroom do not always translate to thorough mastery of content and long term retention. Let us assess your child for free and show you exactly where they're at and help you set some manageable, realistic goals for their long term success.

Math In Nature: Oranges

Did you know that oranges are "mathy?" It's true! Oranges display radial symmetry, which means their sections grow outward, rotating around one central point and, when separated, match each other closely in orientation and shape.

Isn't math in nature amazing?
