Hi! My name is Barry Sanders. I have been a lover of mathematics all of my life! I received both a bachelor’s and a masters in math from the University of Missouri, Columbia. I have taught college algebra, linear algebra, statistics, and numerical analysis at the college level at the University of Missouri, Westminster College, and for other college programs throughout my career.
I have worked in the corporate world most of my career, starting with a stint as an Operations Research Analyst at Midwest Research Institute, and then moving into various positions in the computer industry. After completing my MBA, I moved into IT management, working up to IT Director for both for-profit and non-profit corporations and VP of IT at Xtra Corporation.
I now enjoy volunteering at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, and volunteering at my church's food pantry, called "Impact". I love music, playing piano, and trombone as well as singing in the Barbershop Harmony Society. In my spare time, I love to play golf and work Sudoku puzzles. I am a proud veteran of the US Navy.
In the 4 years that I have worked for Mathnasium, first as an instructor, and now as a Center Director and Franchise Owner I have “fallen in love” with the Mathnasium Method of helping students get better at math and develop a more positive attitude about their math skills and aptitude.
