Littleton, CO - October 31, 2015 started off like any ordinary Saturday for studying math at Mathnasium of Littleton. Well, not really! The instructors were dressed differently from their normal Mathnasium attire. Zach was a wizard and Abby wore a Captain American skirt. Miss Suzie was a spidery witch and Mary Jane was a kitty cat! That was the prelude to our first annual Halloween Party! Students, siblings, families and even new potential students enjoyed BlackJack Pizza, Halloween cupcakes, Oreo eyeball cookies (thanks to Alex's mom, Lisa), chips and candy! They made Halloween themed refrigerator magnets and colored goody bags to fill with candy and prizes from the treasure chest. Then they played bingo, Horseopoly and Mathnasium card games.
Later in the party, we announced the Students of the months for September and October! AJ Guy was boy student of the month for September and Noal Blessing was boy Student of the Month for October.
Allyse Nothstine earned girl student of the month for September and Christina Marcus was the girl student of the month for October. To earn student of the month, our staff looks at 6 criteria:
The latter is weighted less heavily than the other 5 aspects but does play a role.We will look at these criteria as well in determining the student of the year for our annual award to be given out at our Holiday Party December 11, 2015.
We also selected the Best Costume Award which Noal and his family won hands down with their Titanic-themed costume (Noal was the captain and the ship, his sister, Lilly, was the Iceberg and mom was a passenger with her life vest on). A last-minute costume category was determined when one of our student's sisters arrived dressed as Pi and wearing a wizard's hat with the name Archimedes written across it.
Thanks to all our fabulous students and their families for supporting Mathnasium of Littleton and making learning and teaching Math so much fun!
