Tim Madden
Franchise Owner
Tim was raised locally and graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School. Upon graduation, He received a four-year Navy/Marine Corps ROTC scholarship to Villanova University, where he graduated with a degree in Engineering. Later, Tim was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy. He completed flight school in Florida and Texas, earning his wings and becoming a Naval Aviator. Tim served for nine years on active duty. He held many positions in his time with the military including; Aircraft Commander, Instructor Pilot, and finally, Senior Instructor Pilot. After leaving the Navy, Tim became an Airline pilot for Jetblue Airways out of JFK, New York. He started as a First Officer on the Airbus A320. Within one year, he became a Captain. At the time, Tim was one of the youngest Large Commercial Aircraft Captains in the country! Eventually, he left Jetblue Airways to tackle new challenges. Tim has always had a passion for teaching, leading, and helping others achieve their goals. He has coached over 30 seasons of youth sports, including baseball, football, softball, and wrestling. Tim believes that with proper instruction and motivation, you can achieve, almost, anything!
Ryan
Center Director
Ryan graduated from Penn State University-Main Campus with a major in Applied Statistics and a minor in Economics. He would like to eventually get into the field of Data Analytics. He was hired as an instructor in November of 2022 and promoted to Center Director in May of 2023. Math has always been his favorite subject in school, and he finds it fascinating how numbers can be used to tell stories and forecast the future. In his free time, Ryan enjoys watching and playing sports, especially basketball.

Abby
Assistant Center Director
Abby earned her Bachelor of Arts from Shippensburg University where she majored in Psychology and minored in Mathematics and Disability Studies. She plans on pursuing a Masters in Clinical Psychology. In her free time, Abby enjoys crafting, reading, baking, and cuddling her guinea pig Percy (named after Percy Jackson). She loves reading anything about ancient mythologies, cultures, and civilizations as well as DC and Marvel Comics. Currently, Abby is making her way through Homer's Illiad.

TJ
Instructor
TJ is a Freshman at Harrisburg University where he studies Engineering and Math Sciences. He is involved in karate, theatre, and leads a D&D campaign. In his free time, TJ enjoys playing videogames (skyroom) and art. His favorite medium is drawing and he enjoys drawing landscapes the most.

Hamza is a Senior at Cumberland Valley High School and would like to study Computer Science at Boston University. He is a member of the CV Technology Student Association and participates in extracurricular activities about Cybersecurity; he is currently taking a Computer Science course offered by Harvard University. Hamza enjoys watching horror movies, video gaming, and computer programming. His favorite video game to play is Super Mario Smash Bros.

John Paul

John Paul is a Senior at Shippensburg University and is studying applied mathematics and physics. John Paul plays the guitar and likes to play video games in his free time. He is also into sports and has coached basketball in the past.

Nandhini

Nandhini is a Junior at Cumberland Valley High School and would like to study Business and Music. She is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and Orchestra. She plays the piano and viola and she will be playing the viola in the PA Musical Educators Association. Nandhini is a lover of music and spends her free time playing her instruments. Her favorite composer is Chopin and she has a disdain for Mozart because she feels his music is predictable and overrated.

If a student is struggling or simply looking to keep up in their math class, Mathnasium will build upon what they already know, addressing their learning gaps and teaching math in a way that makes sense to them.
Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout. Pricing varies by program and geographic area. Contact our center for more details on enrollment packages.

No. All learning occurs under the efficient and effective guidance of our trained instructors. Adding homework would risk frustration and overload. In fact, we'll set aside some time each session to help your student with their school homework.
