Good at Math? There’s More: Introducing Mathnasium Plus in Monterey

Not every student comes to Mathnasium because math is difficult. Some understand grade-level material quickly, enjoy solving problems, and are ready for more challenge. For those students, more worksheets or simply moving faster through the same material may not be enough.

That is where Mathnasium Plus comes in.

More Challenge, Not More Work

Mathnasium Plus is designed for students who are ready to explore math more deeply. It emphasizes advanced concepts, creative reasoning, and the why behind the math, not just memorized procedures or racing ahead.

A strong math student doesn't necessarily need more homework. They need chances to think differently, solve unfamiliar problems, and make connections between concepts. Mathnasium Plus offers that in a supportive environment, with accelerated pacing when appropriate and no additional homework outside Mathnasium sessions.     UTF-8__2026_US_MathnasiumPlus_F…

Being Ahead Is About More Than Moving Faster

Getting to the next grade-level topic sooner is only part of the picture. Strong students also benefit from learning to:

• reason through unfamiliar problems,
• understand why mathematical ideas work,
• approach problems in more than one way, and
• build confidence when the answer isn't immediately obvious.

How Do We Know if a Student Is Ready?

At Mathnasium of Monterey, we don't assume every strong student needs the same thing. We begin with an assessment of the student's current skills, foundational understanding, and readiness. Some students benefit most from strengthening core skills first. Others are ready for more advanced work. The assessment helps us decide whether the Core Program or Mathnasium Plus is the better fit.

We are especially excited by the energy we are seeing from the students themselves. They are not simply satisfied with doing well in class. They want to be challenged, think more deeply, and see how far they can go.
