We are so excited for our Summer Fun! Lessons!
Summer FUN! Lessons are 90 minute lessons that include the 60 minutes of instruction of a standard Mathnasium Lesson and 30 minutes of math games, STEM activities, exploring real world applications, and more! Some activities are in groups, some are individual, and some are outside (supervised, of course!) as we explore the world of math in even MORE ways than we do already during regular lessons.
Summer FUN! Lessons are available July 1st through August 31st.
As long as you have an active enrollment, there is no extra charge for Summer FUN! Lessons! However, Great Foundations enrollments are not eligible.
Check out the calendar below for the break down of July's activities.
All activities have ability-appropriate components for all levels Pre-K to High School.
Week 1 - Measurement
Students will explore the world of measurement through various activities, from discovering what length is (for our youngest students) to exploring angles and geometry (for our High School students) and everything in between! Elementary students will also begin an experiment that lasts all summer to measure how much a plant grows over the 9 weeks of summer.
Week 2 - Exploring shapes
Students will be discovering shapes and geometry in their environment (mostly outside!) to see real-world existence of some of the math concepts they have learned about so far. They will build on their previous understanding of Measurement in these activities and will take home their discoveries in a packet at the end of the week.
Week 3 - Puzzle Week
Students will explore a variety of math and logic concepts through puzzles and will even be able to take home their Puzzle Pack to share the fun with their families!
Week 4 - Operations
Students will make resources that will aid in remembering the steps to solving various types of problems and will take them home at the end of the week to keep for future math endeavors!
Week 5 - Number Sense
Students will play partner and group games that focus on using number sense strategies to cooperatively meet a goal or target. Games that don't need specific materials will be shared with families at the end of the week, as well as a list of any purchasable games and where to find them!
