What is your favorite part of working at Mathnasium of Napa?
I love seeing new minds coming into the world. I expect more from the education system than what is provided, so I like being able to support students’ education. I love being able to help kids feel a sense of success. It has been exciting to see many kids go from hating math to liking it.
Outside of Mathnasium of Napa, how do you use math in your everyday life?
I am a mathematics major at Napa Valley College. After getting my degree, I’d like to get a Masters Degree or PhD. The end goal is to be in education, but I would first like to gain experience in the Computer Science or Finance industries.
Was there something that helped sparked your interest in math?
I’ve always been good at math, so I was initially interested in it because I was good at it. Over time it has turned into a joy of a thinking practice that has challenged me and driven me to solve more problems.
What type of math is your favorite and why?
Complex Analysis, like Calculus. It goes back to the complex thinking required to solve those problems. Geometry is also fun!
Do you have any success stories that you would like to share from students you’ve worked with at Mathnasium of Napa?
They each have their own personal wins and it is great to see them move forward on their mathematical journeys.

Math is a way of thinking. It is a form of expression and creativity. Math is fun!
