Shrestha is a neuroscience major at the University of Maryland, College Park and has been tutoring math since 2021. A former Mathnasium student herself, she credits the program with helping her develop the confidence she now shares with her students.
She strives to help others enjoy math as much as she does. Her favorite number is 11, and she loves fun math facts—like how a typical cloud weighs about a million tonnes!
Brian is a veteran middle school math teacher in Montgomery County and has been part of the Mathnasium team since 2016. He brings over 15 years of classroom teaching experience and a calm, supportive presence to every session.
Outside the center, Brian enjoys collecting sports memorabilia and spending time with his wife, Kate, and their daughter, Grace. He’s passionate about helping students grow in confidence and skill through personalized instruction.
Jaya is a senior at Wootton High School with a strong interest in biomedical or aerospace engineering. She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for math and helping students develop problem-solving skills with confidence.
Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys reading, hanging out with family and friends, and playing with her dog. Her favorite number is 6—her old soccer jersey number—and she’s always ready with a math joke: “What did the triangle say to the circle? You're pointless!”
