Mathnasium of Nutley Student Highlights!

Mar 21, 2023 | Nutley

Q: What did you think Mathnasium would be like before you came here?

A: I didn’t have much of a prerequisite about what I expected. All I knew was that I definitely was struggling with math and my teacher wasn’t the best. I definitely thought it would be like taking another math class instead of getting help with the one I was already in.

Q: What is your favorite thing that’s happened to you at Mathnasium?

A: One of my friends from elementary (hadn’t talk to her in years) ended up joining and I now have the chance to see her a lot more often. I also found out that she stayed in Nutley. There were also a lot of “aha” moments where I actually understood things I was struggling with.

Q: Do you feel like math is easier at school since you’ve been coming to Mathnasium?

A: Without a doubt, I would be totally lost without Mathnasium. I still struggle when I’m just learning it on my own but, when being taught by instructors at Mathnasium, definitely have the chance to catch up.

Q: What happened to your test scores and grades (in math class) after you started coming to Mathnasium?

A: When I first started, I had a C in Algebra I. Now I fluctuate between A and B averages. I finished last year with an A. So, in short, I/m going from C’s to A’s.

Q: Do your parents think Mathnasium is helping you learn math?

A: Absolutely! Otherwise, they’d likely pull me out. They can visibly see improvement in my grades/test scores.

Q: Have you ever brought math homework from school to Mathnasium? What was it like to get homework help?

A: I have. It’s definitely freeing in a way. I don’t have to dread the idea of a pop quiz and even find myself hoping for one because I know the material and am confident in my abilities."
