Owner
Graham earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University. He grew up in Okemos and is a member of the Okemos High School class of 2011. Graham was an instructor at Mathnasium of Okemos for about a year and a half prior to being promoted to Center Director, where he served the families and students at Mathnasium of Okemos for a further six and a half years until stepping into the ownership role for the center. At MSU, Graham was involved in the MSU Drumline and traveled to Antarctica for a study abroad trip. He greatly enjoys math and wants to pass on that enjoyment to the students at Mathnasium.
Mitchell
Assistant Center Director
Mitchell joined the Mathnasium team in September of 2023. He graduated Okemos High School in 2015, and attended Purdue University, graduating in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Mitchell enjoys reading stories. While in high school, Mitchell was a member of Okemos Key Club. Mitchell is inspired by the quote:
"You can learn something from everyone," by Confucius.
Q&A with Mitchell:
Q: What kind of math do you find most fun (or most challenging)?
A: I found the variable equations the most fun, because I like the feeling of "uncovering" the identity of x.
Q: What experience or class led you to discover your passion for math?
A: The rate problems. That was the first type of question I need help for, and I met the teacher that brought me into the world of math.
Q: What's the deal with Geometry?
A: I guess it's a love-hate relationship. It was confusing for a long time, but once you get it, you kind of get all of it.
Q: What's something people might be surprised to learn about you?
A: Maybe from the outside, I am logical most of the time. Though, I can get emotional real quick if I read a good story.
Q: What's the best advice you've ever received?
A: "You might get discouraged if you only try to chase for the big goal. Break that down and take the small steps everyday."
Q: Would you sign up for a one-way ticket to Mars?
A: I would not. For me, there's still a lot to discover on earth.
Q: If you had access to a time machine for one day, would you go to the past or future?
A: Probably future. I'm more curious about the lifestyle of the future.
Cameron
Instructor
Cameron joined the Mathnasium team in August of 2024. He graduated Kalamazoo Central High School in 2022, and is currently attending Michigan State University, pursuing a bachelor's degree in mathematics. Cameron enjoys playing hockey. While in high school, Cameron participated in hockey, marching band, baseball, tennis, and golf. Cameron is inspired by the quote:
"My brain is only a receiver. In the universe, there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength, and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists," by Nikola Tesla.
Q&A with Cameron:
Q: What kind of math do you find most fun (or most challenging)?
A: My favorite math class was graph theory.
Q: What experience or class led you to discover your passion for math?
A: AP calculus was the math class that reminded me how much I loved learning math.
Q: What's the deal with Geometry?
A: Geometry might not seem important as you're taking the class, but it's used all the time in the real world!
Q: What's something people might be surprised to learn about you?
A: My favorite genre of music is R&B.
Q: What's the best advice you've ever received?
A: Do the little things in life. Doing the things that seem small or unimportant help you the most in reaching the big goal.
Q: If you could choose any job on earth to do for one week, what would you choose?
A: I would want to be a food tester. There's only one thing in the world better that free food, and that's getting paid to eat!
Q: What's something that you secretly dislike, but everyone else seems to love?
A: Social media. In my opinion, the way it is used kind of seems pointless and I also prefer to not put my personal life on the internet.
Elias
Instructor
Elias joined the Mathnasium team in January of 2025. He graduated Vista Ridge High School in 2020, and attended Michigan State University, graduating in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in astrophysics. Elias enjoys playing a copious amount of Dungeons and Dragons. While in college, Elias was a member of the MSU Society of Physics Students and the Astronomy Club. Elias will always smile when recalling the quote:
"Does [my body] require constant almonds? Yes! Almonds all the time... Okay!?," by Brennan Lee Mulligan
Q&A with Elias:
Q: What kind of math do you find most fun (or most challenging)?
A: Multivariable calculus. Easily the hardest class I've ever taken, but it was just so satisfying to get that one moment where everything just clicked.
Q: What experience or class led you to discover your passion for math?
A: Once I started college classes and actually started to apply all of these concepts to my major, I think that's when I started to really enjoy myself
Q: What's the deal with Geometry?
A: It's an incredibly complicated field of math and it requires a kind of thinking that other areas of math don't necessarily use. However, it's a useful concept to master, especially if you want to go into a STEM field.
Q: What's something people might be surprised to learn about you?
A: Since 2020, I have played for 10 separate Dungeons and Dragons campaigns.
Q: I've just looked into the future and have seen that you're on the list of TIME's most influential people of the year in 2043. How did you manage that?
A: I ate an entire family-sized bag of Pizza Rolls. My parents were very proud.
Q: If you could choose any job on earth to do for one week, what would you choose?
A: I would be in charge of the group picking TIME's most influential people of the year for 2043. With this, I shall enact my master plan.
Q: If you had access to a time machine for one day, would you go to the past or future? What era specifically?
A: To the future, to 2043. TIME Magazine has caught on to my schemes and I must stop my future self before it's too late.

A: I really enjoy sleeping. I could sleep for 12 hours straight without waking up.
Q: Beatles or Beethoven?
A: Beethoven because his music is much more relaxing and he seems cooler.
Q: Would you sign up for a one-way ticket to Mars?
A: Yes, I think it would be a lot of fun to live on Mars and maybe I could meet some aliens.
Q: If you had access to a time machine for one day, would you go to the past or future? What era specifically?
A: I would go back to Ancient Greece.
Kristie

Q&A with Kristie:
Q: What kind of math do you find most fun (or most challenging)?
A: I really enjoy statistics, but there's something really satisfying about abstract proofs! They're like puzzles, and finding the theorem that makes it all come together feels like putting the last piece in.
Q: What experience or class led you to discover your passion for math?
A: I think I've always enjoyed the problem-solving and challenges that come with math, but it's really the collaboration that happens when people are working on problems together that makes me love it.

A: Sometimes, the real geometry is the friends we make along the way.
Q: What's something people might be surprised to learn about you?
A: According to Spotify, I'm in the top 0.1% of fans for Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Dodie. I crush Karaoke nights!
Q: Would you sign up for a one-way ticket to Mars?
A: Space is really awesome, but I'd rather spend my time improving and taking care of the communities and planet we already have!
Q: If you could create your own holiday, what would it celebrate and how would people observe it?
A: Oh, easy. Soup day. It celebrates soups and companionship. Everyone would bring their favorite soup or crusty breads to share and catch up with friends and family.
Q: If you could revert yourself to a younger age and lose all the knowledge you've gained since that age, would you?
A: Hmm, I don't think I'd want to have a full do-over like that, but it'd be lovely to experience recess with my school friends again!

There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout. Pricing varies by program and geographic area. Contact our center for more details on enrollment packages.
