College: You're Not Alone

Nov 30, 2018 | Parker

It’s nearly the end of the first semester, and senioritis is starting to set in big time. All you and your parents can think about is the wave of emotions about to be coming up in less than half a year. In a just a few short months, you’ll be standing there under the blazing sun, family beaming proudly in the audience. In one swift motion, you’ll stand, wrapping your fingers around the fringy tassel, taking it over from one side of your cap to the other. You’ll stand up taller, joy rushing through you. Upon hearing those famous words, you’ll rip your cap of your head and throw it up in air with all the excitement in the world

The day is coming up, and coming up soon. You are really about to do it: graduate and put that big check mark next that line that says “high school”.

A lot is going to happen in those next few months, maybe more than you could even imagine. Now is the time to get a jumpstart on your future, now is the time to apply to colleges, pick a place to go, and journey onto this next chapter of your life.

Often for many parents and students, there is a sometimes unspoken, sometimes very verbal fear, but everyone has it: the price tag. How much will college cost? How will our family afford it? How can get as debt free as fast as possible?

The good news: you don’t have to do it alone.

There are many scholarships for students and especially in those who excel in math and STEM subjects. These next few months are your time to apply to these scholarships and get financial assistance for the next few years at college. Take a jumpstart on your future!
