Owner
Megan is the Owner of Mathnasium of Peoria IL. Before opening her center, she worked as a Realtor, Business Manager, and tutor. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees in History, Political Science, Sociology, and Psychology from Eureka College, where she was a Reagan Fellow.
Megan has always had a passion for teaching and working with children. She loves seeing the spark in a child’s eyes when they finally understand a challenging concept. Her favorite shape is a triangle!
Joy Voorhees
Center Director
Joy is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Peoria IL and has been part of the team since January 2022. She holds an Associate’s degree in American Sign Language from Illinois Central College and has six years of experience working as a teacher’s aide in special education.
Joy loves discovering how each student thinks and learns best. She enjoys bowling, karaoke, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. She is currently pursuing her Secondary Mathematics Education degree at Western Governors University.
Madeline Friend
Lead Instructor
Miss Madeline is a Middle School Mathematics Teacher and Lead Instructor at Mathnasium of Peoria IL. She loves watching students reach their “aha!” moments when a tough topic finally makes sense.
Outside the classroom, Madeline enjoys traveling, watching soccer, and spending time with family and friends. She’s the oldest of two siblings and has a pet rabbit named Lily who keeps her busy during her free time.
