Financial Literacy Power Hour: Earning

Our first Financial Literacy Power Hour on June 19th was all about earning — and our students had a great time learning how people make money through jobs, services, and entrepreneurship!

During this hands-on lesson, students explored the connection between work, effort, time, and earning money. Through age-appropriate discussions, real-world examples, and interactive activities, they learned that money is earned through work and that different jobs can pay different amounts.

Students also discovered how hours worked can affect earnings and how earning money can help people reach their goals. This helped build an important foundation for responsible money management while encouraging students to think about the many ways people can earn money now and in the future.

We loved seeing our students participate, ask questions, and make connections between math, money, and real life. Financial literacy is such an important skill, and this Power Hour gave students a fun and engaging introduction to how earning works.

This was only the beginning of our Financial Literacy Power Hour series! We are excited to continue helping students build confidence with important money concepts throughout the summer.
