Qasim holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and brings over 20 years of experience in systems microbiology research and teaching. He currently teaches at Boston University, focusing on microbiology and infectious diseases for students pursuing careers in the health sciences. His research blends math, statistics, and computer science to interpret large biological datasets—proving that math and science are deeply intertwined.
At Mathnasium, Qasim is passionate about helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. He believes math is more than academics—it’s a foundation for creativity and independence. He enjoys working out, traveling, and playing racket sports.
Fun Fact: Student athlete in middle and high school hockey teams, then continued to play in college.

My favorite math jokes: Why numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 don't listen? Because they can't even. Why 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 don't listen either? Because teens don't.
Ali holds a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instructional Planning from Merrimack College. She has taught 7th grade math in Massachusetts and Colorado and previously worked as an Account Manager in a Boston-based fintech company.
Ali is passionate about math education and meeting students where they are. She believes that while there may be one right answer, there are many ways to find it. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, exploring national parks, and spending time with her dog, Noah.
Adil holds a Master’s degree in Finance and has more than five years of experience teaching and tutoring math. At Mathnasium, he manages student enrollment, tracks center performance, and supports both the business and instructional side of operations.
He enjoys stepping in to help students with math and believes in the beauty of solving problems in different ways. His analytical skills and educational background allow him to contribute meaningfully to both student success and center growth.
Favorite thing about Math: Many different ways of solving a problem.
Fun Fact: Linda loves hiking and doing puzzles.

My favorite math joke: I had an argument with a 90° angle. It turns out it was right.
James is a recent graduate from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics & Statistics while also working as a peer tutor for the math department. Math has always been his favorite subject, and he enjoys sharing his love of math with everyone he teaches. In his free time, he likes to play soccer and football, cook, and go for walks with his dog Papaya.
Caitlyn has a Bachelor’s in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. She has always loved math and wants to encourage a love of math in all the students she works with. Currently she works full-time and provides supplemental math help to our students at two of our Mathnasium locations.
My favorite thing about math: Math is made of so many interesting puzzles and the joy of solving one is the best feeling in the world.
Fun fact: I’ve been growing out my hair since I was 7 years old.
My Favorite Math joke: Why did you divide sin by tan? Just cos!
Matthew has several years of software developer experience at a startup in the home-inspection space, and have now returned to his true passion: teaching and discussing mathematics. Matthew loves teaching high school math and advanced topics. He brings a strong academic teaching background, having served as an undergraduate TA for Calculus I and Computer Science courses, as well as a graduate TA for Real Analysis I and Calculus II. He is deeply motivated to help students build genuine understanding and confidence in math.
My favorite thing about math: Math is often misunderstood as something to be memorized rather than understood. I'm passionate about changing that narrative as I firmly believes that any student can succeed in math with the right guidance, effort, and support. This philosophy strongly aligns with the Mathnasium approach - meeting students where they are and emphasizing true comprehension over rote memorization.
Clara is ready to gradate RMHS, and received an early decision to start Brown University in Fall of 2026. What an exciting moment for her!!
She is an experienced math tutor and have always loved math and helping others. She enjoys seeing a student have that lightbulb moment and solve a challenging problem! She also likes to cook, read, play soccer, run spring track and ref at local games.

Hi, I’m Aaron! I’m a senior at NRHS and have completed the most challenging math courses at my school. I love math, but even more, I love helping others understand it. I have experience tutoring locally, and I really enjoy seeing students gain confidence and improve their skills. I also like to fence, program, and hike.
My favorite thing about math: We can consistently find new ways to use math to automate the world.
My favorite Math Joke: What did sine say to tangent when the plans changed? “Hold on a secant!”
Fun Fact about me: I got to take a photo with a fencing Olympic Gold Medalist!
Evelyn is currently a senior at NRHS and loves learning about math and how it relates to other subjects and topics. They enjoy working with others and understanding how they work through problems in their own way. Outside of math they love to draw, paint, and go to concerts.
Favorite Thing about Math: I love how it all builds on itself and how topics connect the more you learn.
My Favorite Math Joke: I knew a mathematician who couldn’t afford lunch. He could binomials.
Fun Fact about me: I've had 7 different hair colors!
Sam earned her undergraduate degree in Statistics with minors in Math and Physics, followed by two years of Computational Mathematics at Duquesne University. As the eldest of four siblings, she has always helped others learn, a passion she brings to Mathnasium every day.
Sam currently works at a cooperative bank and has prior experience managing daily operations and training at a major Dunkin’ franchise in Boston. She enjoys working with kids, supporting her team, and solving math problems in creative ways. Her hobbies include crafting, biking, cooking, and staying active.
My favorite thing about math: I find it very interesting how many different approaches can be used to solve mathematical problems, and how the problem answering makes mathematics more interesting.
My favorite math joke: What's the official animal of Pi day? The Pi-thon!
