The prevailing method for teaching multiplication facts is memorization, which does not work for many students. Mathnasium teaches students how to develop multiplication facts, proven to be a better method for retention over the long term. And, the foundation of our method--counting in groups--is a valuable skill for mastering other concepts: fractions, proportional thinking, Geometry concepts such as area and volume, and many others.
