Mathnasium@Home is real-time, face-to-face instruction over the Internet enhanced by live video and a shared whiteboard. It is safe and secure, with no additional costs. Students work on the same customized learning plans and are taught from the same instructors at our center, and they can go back to in-center learning at any time.

What systems are supported for Mathnasium@home?
Any Mac or Windows laptop or desktop with internet access and a Chrome or Firefox browser can be used.

Do we need any other equipment?
While not required, we recommend the following for an enhanced online learning experience for your child:

Headset and Mic - In order to reduce distraction, we recommend students use a basic noise-cancelling headphone with built-in mic. Here are some examples:

  • Logitech USB Headset H390 (Approximately $20)
  • Logitech USB Headset H340 (Approximately $20)
  • Arama Wired Headset A802MP (Approximately $37)
  • Arama Binaural Headset A600 (Approximately $33)
  • Mpow 071 USB Headset (Approximately $30)

Writing Tablets/Tools - For non-touchscreen laptops and desktops, a writing tablet allows students to use a stylus, giving them more control than a mouse.

  • Wacom Intuos Drawing Tablet CTL4100 (Approximately $80)
  • Wacom One Graphic Drawing Tablet (Approximately $50 for small size, $120 for medium size - Medium size is recommended for comfort and ease, but either will work well)

  • XP-Pen StarG40 6x4 (Approximately $35)
  • Optical Pen Mouse (Approximately $15)

Do students work on same curriculum?
The virtual learning experience is designed to mirror how students work at our Center. Students work and the same material and with the same instructors in real time. Students continue each session were they left off previously.

How will students get help with Homework and Test Preparation?
Students should email a picture or scanned copy of their assignments to [email protected].

How will student get instructors attention when needed while working online via Mathnasium@Home?
Instructors will monitor each students' work as they do in center. When an instructor is not in a student's breakout room and seeing/talking to them directly, students can "raise their hand" inside the application (on the top right side) to get the instructor's attention, or send a chat message.

Do students need a separate email address to access Mathnasium@Home?
No, parents can use their Gmail account login ID for their child to access Mathnasium@Home or create a separate login on the site associated with their email address.
