We help students tackle fast-paced, complex topics like factoring polynomials, quadratics, exponentials, and logarithms to build advanced problem-solving skills needed for Precalculus and college-prep coursework.
At Mathnasium of South Westminster, our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels learn and master algebra. We support them in Prealgebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2, as well as concepts like expressions, equations, functions, graphing, polynomials, and exponential relationships.
We provide personalized, face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun group environment. Our tutors use natural, everyday language, meet students where they are, and guide them step by step so algebra feels understandable and confidence-building.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help students deeply understand how algebra works while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Students’ Mathnasium enrollment starts with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills, learning gaps, and goals. With these insights, we create a personalized learning plan that focuses on exactly what each student needs, whether they need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
With the plan in place, our tutors deliver targeted, supportive instruction, adapting in real time to the student’s learning style. This approach helps them fill knowledge gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and build lasting confidence as they progress through algebra.

Spencer Benner
Regional Director
Spencer began his Mathnasium career in 2018 as a part time instructor with Mathnasium of Oviedo, FL while attending the University of Central Florida. Spencer was quickly promoted to Lead Instructor where his understanding of the Mathnasium Method deepened through creation of learning plans for students. With excellent student progress and customer satisfaction, Spencer was soon moved into the Center Director role.
In 2024, Spencer moved across the country to Colorado and joined the Mathnasium of Littleton team as the Center Director. Spencer brought the same level of high expectations to the team. Spencer led Littleton to become a 100+ 5 star Google review center and student progress reflected that.
Spencer then promoted to Regional Manager of Denver in 2025, overseeing the operations of Mathnasium of Cherry Creek, Cherry Hills, Denver Highland, Lakewood CO, Littleton, Parker, and South Westminster.
In his free time, Spencer enjoys the typical tropes of Colorado - hiking, climbing, and spending time with his dog, Pepper, and his cat, Phillip.

Karen Lossing
Executive Director
Hi, I'm Karen. In the early 2000s I was a mom to two very different students. My oldest loved school, was a teacher's pet and cried if she wasn't scoring above a 100% with her bonus points questions. She begged to get to skip ahead a grade so she could feel she was having a productive school day. My youngest was fun and creative but school didn't come naturally to him and he became ignored in his class as teachers found him to be distracted (and consequently distracting). As a mom, I wanted the best for both my children and went back to school to become a certified teacher to be able to better advocate for them and students just like them. After years in public education as a teacher, special education specialist, curriculum writer and school administrator, my children were off to college and I was off to my next career as a franchisee with Mathnasium. What drew me to Mathnasium is what drew me to education, my core belief that each child deserves individualized support to meet their full potential. My once struggling son graduated cum laude with Dean's Honors and multiple 4.0 semesters from the Business College at Texas Tech University. The same can be true for any student, and I've seen Mathnasium transform the educational experience of hundreds of students first hand. As a franchise owner, my primary focus is instilling Mathnasium's core beliefs in our team members. I am so proud of our exceptional management and instruction teams that you and your student will get to partner with. Sharing in your student's success has been what keeps me loving what I do every day since 2013.
Evan Lossing
Director of Human Resources
Evan's journey at Mathnasium began in 2013 as an Instructor. His passion for math education stemmed from his own academic journey. In elementary school, Evan overcame challenges in math with supplemental support, ultimately excelling and earning a spot in the accelerated program by high school. Fueled by a desire to help others experience similar success, Evan pursued a bachelor's degree in business management at Texas Tech University. Upon graduating, he leveraged his education and Mathnasium experience to excel as our Director of Human Resources.
Evan is relentlessly committed to providing exceptional customer experiences. His passion for understanding and meeting the needs of our students and their families drives him to continually seek out new knowledge and strategies. From staying on top of industry trends to immersing himself in educational podcasts and webinars, Evan is always on the forefront of customer service best practices. His dedication to creating positive and lasting relationships with our students and their families is evident in everything he does.
Evan recognizes that happy employees who are thoroughly trained and fully engaged with the work they’re doing produce the best results. Evan hosts weekly trainings and has built continued education programs to empower our team to continue to best themselves. His work was recognized by our headquarters and he was invited to help build national training programs to benefit our entire franchise network.
Some of Evan’s achievements include:
