Instructor: Typically after I have explained the concepts and instructions, I ask the student to try by themselves so that I can see where they might be struggling. Then I will apply the use of visuals, manipulatives, and down to earth examples to help offer a variety of learning strategies.

Instructor: Students who start building strong math skills early on are quicker to abandon obstacles like finger counting and replace them with long term strategies that are based in repetition, such as times tables. Students become more confident in their own skills as they build on previous knowledge.
