Jasmine graduated from Gonzaga University with dual degrees in Sport Management and Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems. Jasmine loves math because there are many different ways to solve for the solution of a problem. She believes that math is important because it is a part of everything we do. She wants to help students understand math by teaching it in a way that they can resonate with and easily understand. Her hobbies include traveling, watching sports, and spending time with her friends and family.
Caty has her Master's degree in Public Health education from Benedictine University. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Illinois State University. As a kid she struggled with algebra the most. Math did not come easily to her, but in college she took a social statistics class where she learned she is great at stats. She looks forward to enhancing her algebra skills through the training provided at Mathnasium. Outside of work she enjoys dancing, practicing yoga, baking, hiking, and doing anything outdoors/active. Traveling is her favorite. She has been to forty of the fifty states and recently relocated to Washington from Illinois.
Ainsley is a Gonzaga graduate with an Applied Math major and Art minor. She also graduated from the Oaks in 2020 and was the math Spokane scholar from her class. Outside of work and school, she loves to hike, golf, draw, and play with her dog. She also loves to travel and has been to 5 different countries.
Annie is a recent graduate of Eastern Washington University, she studied Business Administration and Minored in digital entrepreneurship development. She graduated Valedictorian from Columbia High School with her AA and tons of hours volunteering as a curriculum developer for the NPS and went straight to work on her bachelors. She had some great math teachers that guided her and really cultivated her love for teaching and learning. When not working she loves baking, kayaking, and working on small farms in the summer. She has tons of cool knowledge about agriculture and loves working with weird farm animals.
Ryan is a graduate of Gonzaga Prep High School and Gonzaga University, where he majored in Computer Science with a strong focus on math, preparing him for a career as a software engineer. Math has always come naturally to him, and he excelled in advanced courses throughout college. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys contributing to open-source software projects and playing the trumpet. A fun fact about him? He’s great at solving complex logic puzzles and is always up for a challenge!
Allison is a sophomore at Gonzaga University studying human physiology with hopes of becoming a physical therapist. She graduated from Medical Lake High School and earned the Spokane Scholar award for mathematics. Math has always been her favorite subject in school, and problem solving has always come naturally. Outside of school and Mathnasium, she loves to run, bike, swim, or do anything outdoors.
Jane is a student at Gonzaga Prep and is a member of the Gonzaga Prep honor roll and National Honors Society. She is currently taking AP World History and College-in-the-Classroom Chemistry through the University of Washington. She has always loved expanding her knowledge around math, and is excited to be able to spread her love of math to kids. Outside of education, she loves tennis, skiing, and spending summers at the lake.
Ellis is a Mechanical Engineering major at Gonzaga University. He graduated from Ballard High School and has liked math from an early age. Math has always been his favorite subject because he feels that math is always comprehensible and logical. Ellis also has a lot of experience working with kids and finds it a very fun and rewarding job. Ellis has loved cars and motorcycles since he was a kid and enjoys fixing up old cars and motorcycles in his free time.
Kenny has a Bachelors in Mathematics from Gonzaga and a Masters in Mathematics from WSU. He plans on pursuing a teaching career and may go on to get a PHD in Pure Mathematics. Kenny dreams to work for the NSA! Kenny loves exploring math concepts with students and help everyone learn. In his free time, he loves watching sports!
Gus is a recent graduate of Whitworth University where he studied Secondary Education and Mathematics. He takes great pride in his education and it shows as he earned the Outstanding Mathematics Education during his time in school. In fact, Gus graduated Summa Cum Laude from Whitworth and earned the President's Cup for his 4.0 GPA! Gus has long been interested in teaching since high school and he is excited to combine that desire with his math skills here at Mathnasium. Gus already has a few years of experience under his belt teaching math and he is excited to continue! Outside of teaching, Gus is an avid fan of video games, music, and Lego's. Fun fact, he has been building a Lego collection for the past 10 years!
Bella is a freshman at Gonzaga University studying Nursing. She grew up in the Gifted and Talented education program where she was always ahead in math and sciences. She has loved both word problems and numbers from a young age. Before coming to Spokane, Bella grew up in Colorado, always loving to go outside and connect with nature. She loves to play volleyball and golf in her spare time. Her favorite kind of music is country and she loves going to concerts - especially at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Curran is a freshman at Gonzaga University majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Jazz Performance for the trumpet. He graduated from Interlake High School with an International Baccalaureate diploma. Challenged early on by Algebra 1, he took tutoring to cover his weaknesses, and grew to love math! Curran loves to rock climb, draw, and play video games in his free time. He's a big fan of all music, so don't hesitate to share your recommendations.
Noah is a senior at Lewis and Clark High School. He plans to study mechanical engineering in college and pursue a career in engineering. Noah's favorite subjects have always been those with numbers. Outside the classroom, Noah's favorite thing to do is learn and master new skills like archery, fly-tying, cooking, racing, and just about anything else that sounds fun. Noah loves to be outside - especially when there is snow. He's been camping all over the country and feels most at home while sliding down a freshly powdered mountainside. He is also a complete Harry Potter geek and enjoys a witty sense of humor.
Audrey is a senior at Gonzaga University studying Mathematics. Her plan is to become a data analyst. Ever since she was young, she has always had a fascination with math. She took all the AP and honors classes imaginable, graduating with honors and top 10 of her class. Audrey is committed to helping students achieve their full potential at Mathnasium. Outside of school, Audrey likes to go camping, snowboard, play basketball, surf - pretty much anything outside!
Taran is a senior at Ferris High School and plans to study chemistry after she graduates. A former Mathnasium student, she understands what it is like to need help, and to benefit from that help. She has taken multiple advanced math and science classes, and has a variety of volunteer jobs. As a Ferris chemistry intern, she has lots of practice experimenting with ideas and helping students grasp tough concepts. Outside of Mathnasium, she likes to write and draw in her journal, spend time in the sun, and listen to music. A home-body at heart, Taran loves nothing more than some hot tea and a good playlist.
Regan is a nursing major at Gonzaga University and plans to become an ER nurse. In high school, she challenged herself academically by taking AP classes as well as completing the biomedical pathway track, and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. She has been on the President's list every semester she has been at Gonzaga so far. Math did not always come easy to Regan, at first it was challenging. But, with practice, she improved and eventually loved being able to show off her skills. Outside of school and work, she loves going to the movies and spending time outdoors. When she is home in San Diego, you'll find her at the beach soaking up the sun.
Jocelyn is a senior at Ferris High School. After graduating, she plans to attend a 4 year college and get a STEM degree. She has taken 5 AP classes and is currently enrolled in 6 more. Math has always been her favorite subject and the one she has excelled in the most. Outside of Mathnasium, Jocelyn loves to play tennis and hang out with her family and friends. She also loves sports and is always willing to chat about whatever game just happened.
Drew is a Senior at Gonzaga University studying Mathematics. He graduated from Buena High School in Ventura, California after taking many AP classes. At Gonzaga, he consistently makes the Dean's list. From an early age, Drew has always loved math and puzzles, and loved all his math classes in high school. Mathnasium is a great place for Drew to teach math to great kids! Outside of Mathnasium, Drew enjoys rock climbing around Spokane, spending time with friends, and running! He loves the snow, and has lots of fond memories building snowmen and skating around in winter in Spokane.
TC is a junior at Lewis and Clark High School. She is passionate about chemistry and wants to do research in the future. She is taking 5 AP classes this year including AP Calculus AB. She has always enjoyed learning math since she was little. She loves the logic and the problem-solving skills math brings. Unit circle is her favorite math topic. She feels like she's riding a merry-go-round when filling out a unit circle. She likes to read, scuba-dive, and play badminton. She also loves to learn different languages and travel to different places, and she has a lot of interesting stories about her experiences!
Kayla is a college student at Whitworth University studying economics with the goal of one day being a financial analyst. In high school, she was an ASB treasurer and has always loved anything to do with math. From a young age she knew that math came easier to her than other school subjects did and that made her want to pursue it more. When she’s not at work or school, she enjoys crocheting, hiking, and jujitsu. Ask her about her most recent crochet project, she’d love to tell you about it!
Isaiah is an Honors AP scholar at Ferris High School, 4.0 holder of 4 years, and musician that participates in an advanced choir and free lance piano. Math has been always an enjoyable subject for him, but took lots of time and effort on my part to be able to fully understand it and get to level he is at today. In his free time, Isaiah likes to hang around outdoors and hike, run, bike, ski, and make music. He is full of stories of adventure and plans to create more in the future!
Maura is a student at Whitworth University studying Art History and Mathematics. She graduated from Mount Rainier High School with college credits. Her love for math comes from her mother, who taught it for over seven years at the high school level. Outside of Mathnasium, she loves reading a good book or going out with friends!
Lauren is a student at Spokane Community College enrolled in the ultrasound technician program. She graduated from Sumner Highschool taking IB classes while attending their running start program at Pierce Community College. She recently moved here in the summer to be closer to family. Back home, she was a Center Director at Mathnasium of South Hill in Puyallup Washington. Ever since she was young, she has always loved numbers. Mathnasium has been a great place for her to combine her two favorite things- math and kids! Outside of school and Mathnasium, Lauren enjoys being outside. You could find her out dirt biking, four wheeling, snowmobiling, horse back riding, or just walking her pups. She also enjoys going to concerts, specifically country music concerts!
