Dear Mathnasium of Tallahassee Families:
As we get ready for Spring Break, we wanted to provide the following updates:
- Spring Break Instruction Schedule
- If You're Flying or Cruising during Spring Break
- Mathnasium @Home FAQ
Spring Break Schedule
As previously shared, we will be open for instruction during the break with the following schedule:
Sunday, March 15: 1:30 to 5:30
Monday, March 16: 2:30 to 7:30
Tuesday, March 17: 2:30 to 7:30
Wed., March 18: 2:30 to 7:30
Thursday, March 19: CLOSED
We are open for our regular hours on Sunday, March 22 and Monday, March 23 (teacher planning day for LCS schools).
If You’re Flying or Cruising During Spring Break
We request that you follow the CDC’s guidance, which has been adopted by Leon County Schools and the Florida Department of Health, as it relates to your return to Mathnasium. While they specifically note international travel and cruising, we also ask that you do the same, as it relates to your Mathnasium instruction, if you’re flying domestically. Per LCS:
Anyone (students/faculty/staff/etc.) who go on foreign travel, to any country, must self-isolate for 14 days upon return.
Anyone (students/faculty/staff/etc.) who go on a cruise, anywhere, must self-isolate for 14 days upon return.
We ask that you follow those same guidelines as it relates to returning to Mathnasium if you fly domestically and please wait two weeks before returning to the center. We can accommodate your student during that time via our Mathnasium @Home instruction and transition them back to in-center instruction after that window. We appreciate your consideration and understanding with this request.
Mathnasium @Home Instruction
As a follow up to our note yesterday, we have received several questions regarding our Mathnasium @Home instruction option. We have put together a brief FAQ. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can answer your questions.
If we transition to @Home instruction, can we resume in-center instruction in the future?
Yes, absolutely. You can do @Home and when you decide you’d like to pick up in-center instruction again, just let us know and we can easily make that switch.
Do we need a touch screen device?
No. Students with laptops or desktops can use a regular mouse and keyboard to do their sessions. If your laptop has a touchscreen, you can use your finger or a stylus also.
Can any student do Mathnasium @Home?
Yes. Since launching @Home in June 2019, we have had elementary, middle and high school students, including SAT and ACT test prep, utilize this instruction option.
How does the student get their work?
For their Mathnasium work, we upload their material into the system. You’ll log in via the web browser link (Chrome works best), and their material will be their waiting for them. If they have homework, they can simply email it and we’ll add that to the system.
As always, we thank you for being a part of our Mathnasium of Tallahassee family. Please let us know if we can answer any questions and have a great – and safe – Spring Break.
Thank You
Lisa and Doug
