Lily Stessman

Instructor

Lily is a mechanical engineering major at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She has completed the Calculus series and is currently studying Linear Analysis. Lily has tutored math for over three years and joined Mathnasium in July 2020. She was also named the Distinguished Young Woman of Turlock for 2021. 

Outside of math, Lily enjoys running, playing piano, and volunteering to teach coding to younger students. She is active in her university’s Badminton Club, Vietnamese Student Association, and Society of Women Engineers. Her favorite number is 4. 

Kyle Eshagh

Instructor

Kyle is an Eagle Scout and a recent graduate from Pitman High School, where he ranked third in his class. He created the school’s Math Club and participated in Science Olympiad and varsity cross country. He has also led volunteer projects, including building irrigated planter boxes for the community. 

Now entering Stanislaus State University as a junior, Kyle plans to study Chemistry with an environmental focus. He enjoys mentoring kids through Scouts BSA and at Mathnasium. His favorite number is 7. 

Jacob Howard

Instructor

Jacob holds a BA in Mathematics from Stanislaus State University. He brings a deep understanding of math and a calm, encouraging approach to instruction. He believes in connecting with each student to help them grow in both confidence and capability. 

Jacob is known for his empathy and ability to explain complex ideas in simple, relatable ways. He enjoys working with students and celebrating their progress. His favorite number is 142857. 

Our Instruction Staff

Mathnasium of Turlock’s instructors include certified teachers, math graduates, and undergraduates pursuing math or STEM-related degrees. Every team member passes comprehensive assessments and completes a background check and student interaction trial before joining the team. 

All instructors receive ongoing training to ensure high-quality teaching aligned with the Mathnasium Method™. They foster a supportive and enthusiastic environment that helps students build confidence and succeed. Our staff loves math and working with kids, and we are dedicated to helping every child thrive.
