Q: What makes Mathnasium different from other tutoring centers?
A: Mathnasium is an after-school learning center. We are math tutoring experts, but we are more than just tutors. Our goal is to develop mathematical thinking and problem solving skills that will carry a student through more than just tonight’s homework.
Q: Why would you encourage parents to consider Mathnasium?
A: We believe that the Mathnasium Method will boost grades and build confidence. And in math, confidence is half the battle. When a student is confident, they are more willing to ask questions in class, and attempt the kinds of problems that they would probably never would have even tried before. Parents have told us that it relieves tension at home over math homework issues.
Q: How often do students get re-assessed?
A: We give our students new assessments when they finish a Learning Plan, or when they move from one Math subject to another, such as Algebra going into Geometry.
Q: What kinds of math help does your center/re offer?
A: We work with all levels of Math, from 1st grade through High School. We supplement what the student is learning in class, and will help with homework and test/quiz prep. We also help with SAT and ACT Prep, ASVAB, Praxis, as well as, preparation for union exams such as Carpenters, Plumbers, Pipefitters and Electricians.
